    Well, Joe was Joe.

I saw him way back in 1969 when he was with The James Gang, must have been because it appears he was in Europe in 1970.
    But that's another story.

The intro group was JD and the Straight Shot. Never heard of them but they were pretty good. The drummer was the drummer for SNL for like 20 years or so and was really a percussionist as he had a really small set and used a washboard and rattles and that stuff a lot. The lead singer was good, they also had a bass fiddle, violin, slide guitar, and lead guitar. they had a very original sound.

I give the crowd a 7.0 on the 1 to 10 death-O-meter and four Big Macs on the fat scale. Some very large people were there but the crowd didn't seem as old as I expected.
    Babes were almost non existent.

Joe looked really good and had a lot of energy....he made me want to take a nap the next day.
The music was very good, sound system excellent. He played a lot of James Gang and solo songs and he made every one sound better than the recorded versions, a rare feat for a live show.
He dedicated one song to Glenn Fry...it was okay, most Eagles songs are so boring. He really did well to get outa that gig.
The other Eagle song, Fast Lane...he actually made it sound better as he sped it up and used his guitar playing to better effect.

The Bomber: Closet Queen/Bolero was really good. He had a guy there with a Moog, I guess it was, so most of his songs had a lot more electronics in them. He also played a long psychedelic type of song that I never heard before that was really good...wish i knew what it was.

Two drum sets an organ, the Moog/organ, 4 back up singers, etc.

One surprising song was a cover of an old Sly and the Family Stone song, Everyday People. He said he did it because it was fun.

He refused to do an encore. He said all they do is walk off the stage and pretend to leave then walk back on, so he was just going to do two last songs and then leave...which he did.

All in all a very good concert, and we got out of the parking lot pretty quickly..almost like when we could go to concerts and then drive through a field and hop onto a road down wind somewhere in the old days.

So we'll work on getting Dave Mason tickets today.

That's the concert and I saw the set list, but I think it's missing a few songs. It might have been Mother Says but if it was it was so altered as to make it unrecognizable to me...and better. But I think the song I'm thinking of came sometime after The Bomber.
