That would have to be one hell of a resume to get them in.

Form your own company!!! I have done time and have a felony and several misdemeanors that I got when I was younger and acting dumb and reckless. I was also convicted of at least one or two crimes that I did not commit and did time for those as well. Never could find a job after that, not even an interview! I literally felt like I was in hell!

So I said fuck this and formed my own LLC. Now I'm not only employed, but an employer. I am an employee of of my company.

Definitely the way to go...the system makes it so hard for someone who has made some mistakes in life to get a job. As a result these people often feel hopeless and eventually give up looking for legal employment. I made these. I stakes when I was a lot younger and immature, but this shit sticks with u for life! And with the current job market, if you have any kind or record, you would need an outstanding resume with very good references and a good employment history to stand any kind of chance. Not trying to be pessimistic but it is what it is :(. My resume is about as shitty as they come, employment history sucks with large gaps of unemployent and weak references. I felt so hopeless, but you are not screwed my friend...I am giving u some good advice here and trying to help you because I am in the same shitty situation and if I can help one person get out of the shithole they got into, then that's my good deed for the day :sunny:

LLCs are much easier to form than corporations, but business entities can be changed, and you can file an IRS form to have your LLC taxed as an S-corp...so you can basically be both at the same time (sorta).

The easiest to form are sole proprietor and partnerships. But these offer no liability protection and does not separate your company as a separate entity for yourself. Ie if shit hits the fan your personal assiets are at stake. You can also for. Limited partnerships but I don't know much about these.

PM me if you are interested or wanna know more about how to do this. It seems very complicated at first but it actually very easy and anyone can do it.

Step 2: buy wholesale, sell retail

You can do whatever you want with the company really, it doesn't have to be retail.

Im not looking to do anything like this right now with another kid on the way... but at some point I am. I have a felony possession with intent charge and it has made my life extremely difficult job wise... as for people mentioning psych...that's ridiculous. I went to school for three years for psych and have no idea why as now I owe a bunch of money on student loans and can't use the schooling anyways unless I would work in a rehab setting or as a drug and alcohol counselor (they don't mind those charges at all) or go into business for myself. In any case, do wanna figure out some kinda own business in the future... but usually you need large loans?

Your reputation takes the hardest hit. People never look at you the same way again. They often wonder if you would do that to them. They don't want to be around someone who has been convicted of something "so horrible". This is true even when they have no idea what happened - -

    All that being said..>>>>

This guy makes some good points...

The one good thing that I have going for me is my charge was from when I was 20 years old- 13.5 years ago.
There are actually a good bit of places etc that let stuff go with time..
That said, I'm not even going to go into the total amount of places I started working or volunteering even for (hospice) that I had to stop once the background check stuff came up (often months into things)...it's a bit frustrating...
anyways, what I'm starting to do now... since I'm home with one, soon to be two kids anyway... is starting to teach flute lessons again, which I did when I was in high school. My mom has done that her whole life and even when she worked for the school district, she would have quit sooner than she did and just taught the lessons if it wasn't for the benefits of the school. I do not need benefits (already have through spouse) so... this may work for a while.
