Country Joe McDonald is another example. An arrest warrant was issued for him in Worcester, MA back in the 60s. He performed his song about Viet Nam which he would usually start off with a call and answer with the audience of F...U...C...K...what does it spell?

I don't know all the details, but apparently the charge was for obscenity. It cost him thousands of dollars to extricate himself legally from that situation.

It's just a shame that he was responsible for so many teenage suicides! He was like Sartre, everything was negative! All that Existential bullshit! Let's all go kill mom and pop!

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
    Mother...I want to...AAAAAAGH!!!

A wiki article about 'The End'.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_End_(The_Doors_song)

IIRC, a documentary on VH1 stated that after doing a live performance and the reference to 'screwing your mother', Capitol records dropped him. I think Elektra picked him up after that.
