have you really not seen dumb and dumber for the better part of a decade? i haven't intentionally watched it since it was relatively new, but it seems like it's one of those things that's constantly on in the background somewhere.

I also liked the part where he was in the cannibal corpse crowd. That always makes me laugh. But now I'm older I watch some of his movies like. They're just too immature for me now lol. They still have their moments though.

A few years back capitalists actually made it so that corporations are treated as individuals under law.

Even making some sort of "ethical limit" would still entail the subjugation of your workers and the inhumane conditions needed to generate revenue with whatever your products are.

What you suggest defies what capitalism is and has always been.

Excuse the dated anarcho-syndicalism. Although the dated text can sure take you aback with just how little has changed.

I don't think that's true. People making and selling their own products, sourcing fair trade, sustainable materials.. That's capitalism, isn't it?

Jim Carey is the funniest actor of all time. Untouchable. One of the people I would meet if I could meet anyone.

That sounds more like someone desperately trying to survive in capitalism as ethically as possible. And lucky enough to have a hobby they can generate enough revenue with to pay their landlords and supermarkets. I'm sure they'd much prefer making or doing things that other people don't have to undignifyingly sell themselves to a boss to barely afford (or more likely put on a credit card).

And under capitalism everything has a dark price. Even "fair trade" and "sustainable materials".

Really? I don't find him that funny to be honest. I mean, it'd be cool to meet him but he's not "untouchable"...

So true. A lot of products that are certified "fair trade" aren't exactly as "fair" as we dream about. It's marginally better than non-fair-trade items, but it't not magically ethical either. Totally agree with you.

As an economic system it's not possible to sustain long term for one. The "middle class" only exists with high taxes on the wealthy and affordable services. AKA Socialism. Without it you see massive poverty and people unable to compete since all the resources and advantage have gone to those who won the system. This is why the Scandinavian model works so well. It's a capitalist society with some socialist controls in the goverment. Of course to Americans it's all the USSR they do not see any free market. This wealth gap seems to be the biggest fear among them.

This is simple economic fact. Capasilism can be said to have the same pie in the sky dreams as pure communism yet everything Americans fear of that is present in capitalism too. When you depend on humans to follow it they will follow laziness and greed instead. I'm sure if I turned on Fox right now if the debate is soclaism they would say "does not work because of laziness and greed".

Can you honestly look at the state of America and say capitalism works? You might say it beats Venezuela but does it? We have poverty and corruption too.

You should not worship it rather learn it's flaws and how other systems regulate that. It's Democratic socalism for a reason.

I am so proud of Jim Carrey. When I was 9 he was cool since he talked out his ass and was silly overall. Now he upsets Americans with simple and rational statements. As a Canadian I think he has a good outside prospective on us.

I am looking at my autographed picture of him now.

I think that may have been the only movie I've seen in which I liked Cameron Diaz.

I agree she’s not very likable but she was pretty good in “There’s something about Mary” (1998)
