I don't know many songs of them, because i just have one album: Aqualung. But man,i love this album! It's amazing, i like all the songs (and it's not very common). And i'm gonna buy other cd this week, certainly! That's a really great band. Since i've listened this cd i want to learn flute ^^'' it's SO beautiful =D And i will, if i have time.
Tull friggin rocks.....I have "living in the past" on vinyl, and that is a KILLER fucking album..............killer
i've never really gotten into Jethro Tull. the most i know about them is that Tony Iommi(awesome guitarist!!!) was in Tull for "15 minutes" JOn
Jethro Tull is fantastic!! There so unique, different. Man, I loooove them! Especially the song 'Heavy Horses'.
Broadsword & the beast is a superb album but it hardly ever gets a mention. So I'm mentioning it "Broadsword & the beast"And by the way did I mention Broadsword & the beast.
For the younger (in this case that means non-geezer) Tull fans, check out their very early stuff like "This Was" and "Stand Up". It's very Early Hippy, and shows the Beatnik roots. It's raw, the sound quality isn't wonderful, but it's great stuff. I've been a Tull fan since those days. They lost me when Ian went through his midlife crisis, fell in love with his dick, and started writing crap like "Tall Thin Girl" and "Kissing Willie". Hard to believe he's the same man who wrote "My God" and "Requiem". Sounds like he's over that (and probably has been for a long time).
^^^^ I so agree! Last concert was a huge disappoinment, really didn't want to see a Vanessa Mae look-a-like playing her version of Zepplin. I believe they've split now, doing an accoustic tour, Ian's music is inane now, he's lost to the orchestral stuff.
Got to say, I had a feeling Tull band members took a back seat for the guest violinist...that didn't happen when Willy Porter guested. I'd love for Martin Barre and Willy Porter to do a UK tour!
the only thing i know about recent ian anderson is a colaboration he did with mary youngblood that rocks. also there was one concert i heard part of sometime in the last ten years that was still going strong. i am though, MUCH more familiar with the old jethro tull days. i forget the name of the alblum i had on 8-track. it had "walkin on the sidewalk" and the all time classic "room to move" i do remember "standup" and one, i think it was called "begger's banquit", one of those was i think, the one with "aqualung", their 'other classic'. =^^= .../\...
Jethro Tull had never made those songs. I've never heard of Walkin' on The Sidewalk and Room To Move is a song by John Mayall. By the way, Beggars "Banquet" is an 1968 album by The Rolling Stones, not Tull.
I love Tull! Love love love loooove them! They're just amazing and I think Ian Anderson is a genius! I'm only 14 but they're my favourite band of all time! I think my favourite is definately thick as a brick but Aqualung is fantastic too and their folk rock stuff like heavy horses is absoloutely amazing! Does anybody know where I can get a checked coat like Ian Anderson wore in the early days? Peace to all.
I've only recently discovered Tull through the song "Aqualung" wich has already become on of my all time favourites. Any album recomendations of theirs?
