You are correct this forum is a place for anybody to discuss “Christianity” in almost anyway they want. Guess what? That is what I’m doing.

If you feel that you “should be able to express our own thoughts on the things we talk about without using the Bible as a be all and end all”, that’s fine and please feel free to do so, in fact that is what most do but I believe I should be able to express my own thoughts on the things we talk about, using the Bible as a be all and end all, after all that is my viewpoint on the matter.

 

The trouble is that in these discussions everybody makes assumptions but they don’t tell you they are and thus the discussion gets quite convoluted and the point of the discussion gets lost, at least like I said, I was up front and out in the open about it, so if I was incorrect it could be cleared up quickly and not linger in the background to haunt the discussion.

All that having been said, I think if you go back and reread what was said, I think you will see that the “assumption” that I made has no such effect on the discussion as you mention. It is a if/then statement where the “assumption” goes away if the “if” part is answered.

 

If your “God” is not an it, then perhaps your use of the word “itself” is a bit misleading.

As for my use of the word “he”, that is the gender that he uses in the Bible and so that is the gender I use.

 

So, does this mean that you believe all roads lead to “God”?

Remember, there have been thousands yours no different than the rest.

 

Of course you know people have done wicked things in the name of love as well but the question was directed toward who the “God” is that you worship and how can you be sure that “God” is not Satan the god of this system of things? The problem that is run into is, without using the Bible, we just have to take your word for it and that has not worked well in the past.

 

I'm not asking about my "God" in the question but about his "God", hence the quotation marks. So ask him the question.

But if you are just asking me the question without referring to the question you quoted, for one thing, the God of the Bible is different than all the others because only he is the true God the creator of the Universe.

But anyway, my argument is Bible based, at (John 10:34-36) Jesus answered them: “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said: “YOU are gods”’? If he called ‘gods’ those against whom the word of God came, and yet the Scripture cannot be nullified, do YOU say to me whom the Father sanctified and dispatched into the world, ‘You blaspheme,’ because I said, I am God’s Son?

So, if Jesus says that there are many who are called gods, who I’m I to disagree?
