For y'all who have seen this iconic rock opera, and happen to be Christian, how well do you feel this show depicts the personalities and motivations of the characters from the gospels. Obviously Jesus and Judas are the leads, but I'm also curious what you think about the depictions of Mary Magdaline, Peter, Simon the Zealot, Kaiafas, Herod, and Pilate.
It has been many years since I've seen it (the film adaptation, at least), and would have to give it another watch. One thing that did stick out to me about JCS was the way fatigue and exhaustion are emphasized in the ministry of Jesus. I also thought that the unrequited love angle they took with Mary Magdalene (if I'm remembering correctly) was fascinating and very realistic. I think if there ever was something between Jesus and Mary Magdalene, it likely went unconsummated because of the demands of His ministry. This seems more plausible to me than the Dan Brown interpretation of their dynamic.
