Well, I assume the reason they refused your material is maybe they simply did not want it........my family has had other "preachers' come to our door (the men that ride the bikes around...I dont know what they preach) and they've refused simply because they are satisfied with their own teachings and don't feel the need at this point to venture out so to speak. But they wouldn't be condemed had they decided to read the material. And as for CTR. Well, I don't know. Maybe some of his teachings were right on which is why they don't contest them? But for them to be "right on" the JW's would have to see them as being the teachings of God straight from the bible and not soley the teachings of this man. That's all I know I really don't know in depth the exact things they "embrace" that maybe have to do with CRT. But I do know they only teach what comes from the bible. The watchtower mags are aided by the bible....not the other way around. Meaning anything they print will be completely influenced by the NWT ...nothing more, nothing less. Or they use the bible to aid them in the reading of the watchtower, they don't use the watchtower to aid them in the reading of the bible if that makes sense.
What do they do with Rev. 14:9-11? I don't know Greek, but I've been told that a literal translation would be: "What God was the word was." That's irrelevant. What matters is the full deity, personality, and eternal loving communion of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: http://www.ccel.org/e/edwards/trinity/trinity.html http://www.ccel.org/s/schaff/npnf103/cache/npnf103.txt I've had the same experience as Campbell. JW's come to my door and are eager to share their literature, but when I ask them to take some of mine and come back for a discussion after we've both read each other's material, they invariably decline.
One of my parents' best friend is a Jehovah's Witness and she's actually pretty cool. Doesn't do the whole knocking on doors to convert, does do the long prayer and doesn't believe in holidays. Infact my dad once bought her a windsock for Christmas that was Scrooge going Humbug. Sure some can be a little in your face... but really, someone from any religion (hell any type of group) can be like that too.
Get a grip on it prof_dumbo ~ the girls story is genuine, whether you want to believe her or not. She realtes what she was told, not what you think! Religious insanity is not only an historical fact, it is a contemporary fact, further worsened by JW's and people such as yourself who'd rather live in self-righteous delusion than face reality.
They only teach what comes out of THEIR Bible. Which was Radically rewritten to agree with their belief system. They had to change the Bible an much of the wording to get the Bible to go along with their doctrine. Not the other way around. Their Bible at face value appears to read like most Bibles. Yet, when you get to the points of critical doctrine, you soon discover they have messed with the wording. They have done this very extensively.
Oh come on! Get off of their backs! They believe in Jesus, they follow the main guidlines (better than most people) and live very good lives. The fact that they don't want to change doesn't matter. They fit the three requirments. They don't know your religion when they go up to you, they think that you might not have ne and they want to help you incase you are lost. BUT, when you try to give them YOUR Bible, you condescend them. Hmm, I'd think a God would rather take up a JW who tries to guide people who they feel do not know about any form of Christianity, than a whatever you are Campbell who thinks nothing more than tearing into someone's beliefs because it's no what you think. Do you have a direct CURRENT line (so you can't say the Bible, tis old) to God that lets you know what he thinks about different sects of Christianity? If not, stop preaching to them how they are wrong and you are right, makes you a bit of an egocestical bigot in my opinion.
Well perhaps truth is not important to you, but it is to Christians. When a group goes out of it's way to mess with the Bible, Christians get upset. To look the other way, is not the way of God, and it should not be the way of the Christian. JWs donot believe in the actual Bible because their Bible was rewritten many years ago. I can tell you are not a Christian because the Bible is not important to you. I know the Lord, and I know His return is near. The key points of this is spoken of in the scriptures, yet if you don't care about them, you will find yourself unprepared for the future we will soon face.
Campbell, you know you ignore certain key scriptures in the bible that refute many of your statements. You claim you know the Lord in the same sentence you say you know his return is near. Well, God never left us. So who is this Lord you speak of? Who is this Lord you know so deeply that you would have this Lord stand between you and your creator?
Acts 1:11 Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into Heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into Heaven. God is with us in Spirit, but the day will come when we will all stand before Him physically.
I don't know enough about the NWT in detail to debate what you are saying cambell, (I'd have to go about asking my family which I don't feel like doing today, maybe another day) but I would like to see the where the proof is that they have changed "their" bible. Is there somewhere you can direct me ( a legit source, without bias) to read about this?
Of course you have perverted the meaning with your deceitful words. God is all powerful and already interacts with us in a full and appropriate manner. You said before that the lord is coming soon, but as the bible shows, you do not know. In addition, it is God's authority and lordship that is true, even if God exerts will through a creation, such as Jesus. When someone brings you food, do you credit them or God? God is the one who sent them, so like the angel that said Having a name written that no one hath known, except himself.

God inter acts yes, but we are not face to face with God at this time. Thats why the Bible states that when God returns to this world all the tribes of the earth will morn when they see Him coming. God states that no man knows the day or the Hour. I agree, but if you know the prophecies you would know that the generation of people born at the time Israel became a nation will not pass away until all end prophecis will be fulfilled. And Jesus Christ is God. For He is part of the Godhead.
God doesn't need to wear a face to be in or around us. We are in the presence of the living God at all times, inside and out. However, for some, the bible states this: You state that God's face is hidden from you (you are not face to face with God), and according to the prophecies that you quote so often you are unclean, which is why God has hidden God's face (presence) from you. To tell you the truth, you get so many things mixed up I don't find your statements about the prophecies credible. You claim to know the bible, yet ignore major parts of it when you make statements about it. Please quote the specific prophecies that verify your claims. Note that Isreal does not have one human leader at this time, it has the same leader we (the creation) all do and always will: God. Jesus Christ has his own identity and talks to God, just as you or I do.
First John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, The Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. Three persons of the God Head, make one God. Israel has a human leader at this time, and he is called the Priminister of Israel, just like we have a President. Paul states in Cor 13:12 that we do not see clearly today but someday when we are face to face with God, we will understand things as we are known. So I feel I'm in good company. Yes we are in His presence, but you donot see Him and that is the point I and Paul are trying to make. There is a day coming when we will see Him in all of His glory.
For someone who believes so wholeheartdly in the Bible you do a pretty s**ty way of showing it. You're like the Pope in a way, no idea of tolerance. And you think I don't appreciate the Bible? Being able to argue for someone outside of my religion shows a deep understanding. I'm showing love, not bigotry. And here you are saying that if someone doesn't believe exactly what you do, they are damned. May I ask for a Bible passage that says "Campbell34 knows my way. Follow him and live."? I guess I was raised and set up to be an understanding, caring, loving person, being taught that people were equal and loved in the eyes of God (and should be in the eyes of Man although that isn't followed very well). Enough so that I realized that Christianity was good, but for me more was needed. I'm Christian, I'm Pagan (Wicca, not Satanism as you'll probably think. I'll explain the differences on PM for you if need be), I'm a Taoist. I follow the Bible. I'm not muderer, I have no Gods above G-d, I ask forgiveness all the time. And I feel bad that I am justifying myself to you. Curcify me with words, show me hate and distrust. I don't care. For at final day, I will die happy. Can you truly say the same?
Can I say some ting about them not beliveing in hell they dont belive in hell The bible was once in greek right? When ever greeks said the word "Hades" we picture hell.Reallly because in ancient greace hell did not exist "Hades" ment grave or the place the dead go when they die. Thank you peace
The Bible states that there is no other name under heaven given unto men to be saved but the name Jesus Christ. The Bible also states that no man can serve two masters. If Jesus is not enought for you, then who are you serving that will save you? I am happy in Christ, and I would not insult Him by saying you are not enought, give me more. He did it all on the cross. I believe there are a lot of pillow prophets who will love a man right into Hell. The Bible does not soft soap it's message, and neither will I.
If you're right when End Days come you can seat up on your high and mighty place in Heaven while I burn in damnnation, but burn knowing that I lived my life right. That I didn't go and attack people for their beliefs or anything like that. If I'm right, then I hope God has mercy on your cold soul and heart made of stone.
