I saw J. Airplane in the movie about the Monterey pop festival and the movie Woodstock. I know the cover version of Summertime blues by Blue cheer
After Bathing at Baxter's and Crown of Creation are two of the greatest ROCK N ROLL albums of all time to be passed down through history as a testament to the sheer sonic impression made by subversive schizophonics
Jefferson Airplane are awesome. I love that they belted out their psychedelic sounds from a rooftop in NY!
Jefferson Airplane really embodied the spirit of the 1960s. Their rebellious nature totally fit the movement of the time. Never saw them but I did see the early version of Jefferson Starship. While they were technically a better band than Airplane they seemed to lack direction, until Kantner, Slick and Balin felt they were selling out and left, making the remaining members rename it as just Starship. And so it goes, nothing lasts forever.
Saw the Airplane in 1970 or so. I had a balsa wood airplane that I wrote Jefferson Airplane on and launched toward the stage. Eventually it made it and Grace picked it up at relauched back into the crowd. Also saw Starship a few times. Not as good as the Airplane. Also have seen hot Tuna, twice I think.
ya know After Bathing at Baxter's & Crown of Creation are two of the greatest rocknroll albums ever produced. absolute terror!!
