oh boy, grace slick's gonna be in Vegas next Saturday at an art gallery, showing her work-can't wait to see her-don't care how old she is, she's still an all time hottie...
I still break out my Volunteers CD now and then. Just listened to Baron von Tollbooth and the Chrome Nun the other day.
"it wasn't the airplanes that killed him...." Airplane is the bomb, baby! My fave album is After Bathing at Baxters, with Pointed Head coming in second
Marty balin wrote and sings that song but so does Grace...there's a boot out there with Grace singing it in JA.....forget the name of it though....extremely rare
Yeah, I can't pick a favourite really but this album is superb  One of my fav live albums I reckon!
so Grace got old and fat but still beautiful-and funny-listened to her stories for quite a while-she choked up when someone mentioned Janis...and her art is incredible-i'm not generally a fan of musicians turned artists (Garcia, Lennon, etc) but she has a real talent-lots of Alice inspired pieces, and many portraits of her 60's friends...go for about 2 grand each so i didnt buy many-or any-haha-and she wasnt signing anything excpet her art so that sucked but still glad i got to see her
Yeah! i mean, "Jefferson Airplane loves you", why not love them back? Grace had a button (i think) that said "Jefferson Airplane loves you, but The Great Society doesn't like you that much at all" LOL
The early seventies don't remember exact year now, The Jefferson Airplane in concert at the Hollywood Bowl. Rain threatened. Just as the show started the clouds broke an a rainbow appeared over the Bowl. This was not missed by Grace Slick. That heralded a great concert. <(^o^)>
I am an avid fan of Jefferson Airplane. Grace's voice is to me, one of the best female vocalists in the history of rock. My favorite songs are... White Rabbit Somebody to Love Lather Rejoyce Today
I love the Jefferson Airplane. But I must say after reading this thread, all I hear is Grace Slick, Grace Slick, Grace Slick. I love Grace Slick, but there was much more to the Jefferson Airplane than Grace Slick. How about one of the greatest guitar players in the world - Jorma Kaukonen. The great Paul Kantner , singer and songwriter and mastermind of the Jefferson Airplane. I know it was Marty Balin who started the band, but I think it was Paul Kantner who drove the Airplane. Speaking of Marty Balin, great singer and songwriter... And Jack Cassady on bass - a tremendous bass player. Jimi Hendrix loved Jack's bass playing. Jack many times jamed with Jimi in concert and in the studio. Rumors were Hendrix wanted Jack to join the Experience. And Spencer Dryden laying down the psychedelic beats. The Jefferson Airplane were awesome!

Hot Tuna rocks as well, oc...and the mid 80's Starship is one of my guilty pleasures-"We Built This City' does not deserve it's rep as one of the worst rock songs of all time-it's great
