Grace look very young well they all do very intresting picture . to bad i was not in that kitchen . can any make out what the bottle and box on the table is?
I currently have one of their albums, Sunrealistic Pillow, and I'm in love, truly mindjoyful. I need another album, anyone has a recommendation?
Yes i think the same as SplixVortex... Maybe their 5th album "Volunteers" released just before their first break up... And classic Rolling Stone Pianist Nicky Hopkins play on it... I recommend u Volunteers (late 69) even if his sound is very different from "Surrealistic Pillow"... 'cause Volunteers is less underground like Surrealistic Pillow... both album are easier to listen than After Bathing At Baxter's (3rd) and Crown of Creation (4th) ...who are more underground albums made for embryonic deep LSD trips...both albums need more listenin' than the innocent and fresh "Surrealistic Pillow" But if you really like Surrealistic Pillow...their 1st album without Grace Slick is very Good too ...it's more easy to listen to it...more direct stuff... it's folk rock with some psych influence growin' slowly ... it's Jefferson Airplane -Takes Off- from mid 66 & contain good songs as "Blues from an Airplane" "Let Me In" or "Come up the Years"...etc... It's maybe ideal to start in chronological order with the band...
I so totally agree. I'm 16 and just getting into music, but I haven't found anything modern that comes close to the ones you mentioned (those exact three are my all-time favorites). Something's missing - meaning in the words, playfulness yet logic in the sound, and real quality. Aymi
gotta love the airplane, my first listen of Crown of Creation was practically a religious experience! Baxters, Pointed Head, Takes Off, all great stuff
Yes it's all right! This is actual rock ... this is a competition too know who has more muscle...who play louder... actual rock band are definitly not to travel & see new horizons...new territory in our minds... Actual rock ask you just one think -Shake your head frenetically with a bear in your right hand... but yes Simon & Garfunkel touch me deeper with their words of pink cloudy innocence than metallica and their giant black rock in the middle of the monument rock valley... I was too a Metallica fan 15 to 10 years ago... and it's definitly not a bad band ... but it's much easier to be rebel if you hear metallica than Jefferson... but it's just the 1st impression... look closer and you will see that most actual loud rock band are rebel just upon their skin (tatoo) ...it's impressive upon the wall ...but see behind the wall ...there's just void... Jefferson , The Byrds, The Beatles and other bands have many dimensions to offer... many direction to walk...many instruments to imagine... I dream with all that... but nu-metal don't make me dream at all... or maybe a simple black hole come into my mind :H
Jefferson Airplane are my favorite band. I own 5 albums, as well as Paul Kantner's "Blows Against the Empire", Hot Tuna's first album and Jorma's "Quah". Love the Airplane. Volunteers is my favorite.
