Uhh I doubt you've listened to that much jazz, there are lots of different styles, and most of them don't even have singers.

 

you know, now that i think about it, you cant play jazz for shit either. charlie christian? well guess what, i can play twinkle twinkle little star, which is even harder! if you are even able to pluck a few notes at a slow ass speed, you should try recording yourself, because youll discover you sound like absolute shit

you said it yourself. "i cant play lead just yet", which means you basically havent gone anywhere beyond strumming and havent yet learned how to alternate pick, bend or do vibrato well (and someone who strums for their entire first year isnt going to pick these things up in just a couple of weeks, especially since you probably dont play for more than 1 hour a day). why dont you prove me wrong and upload something youve recorded? or is your recording software "not working"? somehow i thought so

Good question. but there's a simple answer. This isn't a forum for musicians, it's a forum for guitarists and unfortunately there are very few people who want to talk about anything else. I've tried many times to get discussions going about jazz, about classical, even progressive house and trance and hip-hop, but it just keeps coming back to Pink Bloody Floyd and the Doors (not that I've got anything against them, it's just that it's all we ever get to hear about).

 

you just have to remember that terd burgler is also Viking and darkwarier. just by reading posts from those 3 usernames (and there was another, the one that posted that horrific-sounding wav of him "playing" guitar), that he has no real interest in music, knows nothing about it, and isn't the least bit musically-inclined.

he may know a bit about theory, but that doesnt mean he can play.
