    What really gets me is all along TEPCO was adept at managing it's own image and that of the nuclear industry, rather than being adept at dealing with the actual crisis.

    You can be sure that the executives of TEPCO and the Nuke Industry believe that the PR is a major crisis for them to deal with too! Remember when they had their reps in the media eye telling everyone it was going to be no big deal...?

    So, big news out of Germany. Angela Merkel, the leader of Germany, who has a Ph.D. in physics, has declared that Germany will phase out all nuclear power in 11 years!

    I just was reading that!

    Here's a quote from that story. Fucking unbelievable how we are being lied to by the Nuke Industry which is trying to save its ass and our governments.

    This may be 20 times worse than Chernobyl, it's already the worst Industrial disaster in our planet's history.

    Question: What would happen if a terrorist flew a 747 loaded with fuel into the exposed reactors?

    midgard, could you please put a short summary of what each article contains?

    Just posting something generic like "US Nukes Safety" isn't really going to get ppl to click on it. At least include the title of the article, like "Nearly 5,000 nuke plant workers suffering internal radiation exposure after ‘visiting’ Fukushima" as others do.

    Likely nothing terrible. The reactor buildings are designed to withstand quite a bit. There is always the chance significant damage is done, but fuel won't matter much. There's stuff out there that is readily available that would do far more damage than the fuel.
