a guy goes in a bar and asks for a shot of Jim Beam. The bartender pours it and the guy pushes it aside and asks for another shot of Jim Beam. The bartender pours it and the drunk drinks it. The bartender says, "I watched what you did and I don't understand why you pushed the first one away and drank the second one!" The guy stated," I've been going to those AA Meetings, and they said whatever you do dont take the first drink..

No, not that addicted. However I used to like to drink vodka gimlets and smoke long cigars until the stub was burning my fingers and the smoke I was sipping was compounded with the burnt essences of the entire length of the cigar already smoked. God I miss that sometimes.

Yes. I smoke, but way less than I did before my grandson moved in with me. Going outside to smoke has been a better, less frequent, habit for me.

A more profoundly satisfying experience because of its rarity now, maybe?

My spirit guide Deanna was a smoker. When I first started getting really close to her in late 2002, she used to use a little cigarette holder. It was like a trademark for her. It kinda set her aside, style-wise. I really loved that particular aspect of her persona.

When I talked to her again via email, years later, in 2010, she was giving up smoking. For someone with a longstanding habit like hers, I thought this must be incredibly difficult. But when I asked her about it on the phone one time, she said she was doing fine with it. She wanted to be able to sing soprano again. I don't know for sure if she achieved that...she cut me off from phone conversations as of around June 2010, so I haven't heard her voice since then. In my mind she tells me she stuck with it...but in my mind she's not always truthful, so who knows?

It's kinda like when my daughter Anna was a toddler, and she used to ask me, "Dad, why do 'skeetos have to suck our blood?" She used to ask this over and over, as if the answer I gave her was never what she really wanted to hear. It was more like she really wanted me to fix this aspect of the world, so that she would no longer need to endure those stinkin blood-sucking 'skeetos.

So maybe when people tell you how stinkin cold it is, they're really hoping you will fix this aspect of their universe, broony. What are you waiting for?

curious on peoples thoughts about buying cars or small suvs with high milage..like 140,000 to 170

So you look at car and test drive and everything seems fine, it has good history, brakes, suspension, belts, spark plugs ect ect...but it has that god damn number on the dash of 168,009 miles...and im like fuck...

cause see i plan on getting a vehicle this year and its year will be 97 to 01 and every one for sale has high miles....

once the miles get that high you gotta worry about the transmission too

my favourite one has over 360,000 k

it would have more but its been in storage for a few years

a well cared for high mileage car is way better than a low mileage one that was abused

My truck has 171,000 mi on it and it runs fine. I have a few problems with it but less problems than i had with my old Saturn that had 44,000.

There are certain vehicles, though, that you shouldn't get with high mileage, though...Cadillac comes to mind...

Depending on the price it may still be worth it. If it had good maintenance and the body isnt all rusted it could be good for another 100K!

Nahhhhhhhhh Transmissions dont really die anynmore, especially on jap cars
