    That's just crazy!

Uh-oh...better keep a firm foot on the brake pedal, or that beast will be trying to hump all the other cars on the road...

I thought so too! The homework page was about different shapes such as cones and cylinders. The page was titled: "Algebra: Categorizing Shapes".

you could say that playig with a toy car is under ''drivers ed''

or that finger painting comes under the umbrella of ''advanced art studies''

This is the first time I've ever seen Kindergarten homework with the title of Algebra on the page. Have you seen that, Rolling?

course not...they werent smart enough to put that on there when mine were in kg

and my grandkids only started public school in january...they went to waldorf here

i think they put that there so smart parents see it and make the connection to algebra themselves...

I went and had a look at the curriculum. One section is "Operations and Algebraic Thinking" and another is "Geometry". http://www.ixl.com/standards/georgia/math/kindergarten

They really are maximizing on how smart kids are. No more just coloring and eating paste in kindergarten anymore.

I know. I'm trying to give hubby the benefit of the doubt. I didn't see the page today. He saw it and he swears it said "Algebra". He may have mis-remembered. I did one of these cylinder, cone shape pages with them before xmas break but I didn't notice what its title was.

Algebra can be as simple as saying, "If you have three oranges, how many more oranges would you need to have five oranges?"

Also btw, imho bacon cheeseburgers and ham & turkey sandwiches are the food of the gods. Just so you know.

Indeed they are. I was scared to eat bacon for a long time after I got braces. When I first got them I kept breaking brackets.

Take my love, take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
    I don't care, I'm still free
You can't take the sky from me.

Take me out to the black
Tell them I ain't comin' back
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me.

Leave the men where they lay
    They'll never see another day
Lost my soul, lost my dream
You can't take the sky from me.

I feel the black reaching out
I hear its song without a doubt
I still hear and I still see
That you can't take the sky from me.

Lost my love, lost my land
Lost the last place I could stand
There's no place I can be
    Since I've found Serenity

And you can't take the sky from me.
