Which Janis Joplin album do you think is the best? Do you think she made better work with Big Brother or as a solo artist? Whats your favorite song by her, off of any album, not necessarily your favorite. My favorite song is Kozmic Blues, but my favorite album if Live in Winterland '68.
I love some Janis, such a wonderful emotion in her voice. I do think she was a better fit with Big Brother, and that her early work is her sounding her best. At the time noone really knew that her voice would wear down so much, and it must have made her tough times harder. Still, she puts so much into her work, and while not everyone likes her, everyone has an opinion of her - a sure sign of greatness. My fave album is the first Big Brother and the Holding Co My fave song is Ball and Chain, but ask me later and I might say something else My fave Live Janis is the bootleg of a California Hall show, feb 67 i think
