Don't get me wrong, I love most of the Jamaicans I know. I just can't always relate to their way of thinking.

 

Yeah, they work like 2 -3 jobs and still have a low salary.

I don't understand it either.

 

Most Jamaicans are VERY hard working, especially the older ones, and I respect them for that.

 

I've lived with Jamaicans, Trinidadians(?) , Antiguans...They are apparently raised with christian influenced superstitions and yes machismo is the rule for the dudes.
That said, these were musicians I lived with, and they had the greatest enthusiasm for my rhythms and tunes of anyone I've ever met..."where'd you get those African rhythms mon?" one said.

"The blues" I said " I got 'em from listening to the blues"
