i was really sad, thinking about how that would exclude me from dating a rasta man, because until post 11, i wasn't thinking about blow jobs at all. then i understood. :biggrin:

 

....um, not one single verse in the Bible condemns oral sex. Or anal sex for that matter (though it's just fucking gross) ... several passages do condemn homosexuality, although without going into the specific details.

 

1 knew nothing about this till now.
1 never heard this before.
However 1 will comment, that perhaps having long roovy dreads [as a fad]
and actually practising rastafari are 2 different things ?

that's jamaican culture. womens vaginas are thought to be unclean. for instance, women that get paid to do others' laundry will refuse to wash womens' panties and underwear b/c it is unclean.

 

also, the proper term is "Ras", not "Rasta" or "Rastaman". Ras=King. The Ta- comes from Tafari, or H.I.M. Haile Selassi I.

yeah somewhere in the o.t. women are unclean b/c they bleed every month. aren't allowed into church for worship etc.

but this is a jamaican thing, not just rastafari.

 

interesting that negro ppl brought from africa would practice biblical traditions ... some would claim that these africans learned such practices from the israelite/hebrew ppl ... i had the opposite idea ... that the hebrews adopted tyheir knowledge from voodoo practicing africans.

yeah, that would be the case if this cultural tradition based on judeo-christian law were actually logical. however, women's genitals are "unclean" as a means of keeping women inferior as a group...like most religions created in a patriarchal society.

I n I am a Rasta woman ( a Shanti)and I have lived in Jamaica and Africia up in the bush. And I'm going to say this to all of you. As being in the lifestyle it isn't right for either man or wombman to have oral sex. It as only become okay with those that live in the States or Europe.or western society.
