Hey moon_beam, Welcome to the site, if you are looking to find out about jambands then you have come to the right place. there are about three others of this same thread here that you can look at: http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216234 http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124870 http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172045 I would recomend phish, steve kimock band, tea leaf green, railroad earth... I could go on and on but these are some good ones for a deadhead imo.
^^^^AHAHAHAHAHAH!!! AHHAHAHAHA!!!!! one more time...HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! thats the most ridiculous shit i've ever heard. disco biscuits are fun, but in no way have the musical prowess that Phish displays. not even close. universes apart.
i am in no way joking. i thought you were joking. dBiscuits are not even close to the level of Phish.....and i don't mean in popularity....i mean musicianship.
...I think you read my post wrong in two ways 1. I'm not the person who said bisco is better than phish 2. I was quoting the person who said bisco was better than phish asking them if they were joking because that is just ridiculous.
ahem.... *The Motet (funky, afrobeat, jazz, jam, rock, very fucking awesome) *Umhpreys McGee (Jam Band, good for newcomers to the jam scene) *RAQ (one of the best jam bands i think lol, they are like a prog rock jam band...similar to phish at times) *Lotus (electronic, jam, rock) *Revolutionary Side Effects (Jam Band, very unheard of, check em out if you like Umhpreys McGee) *John Scofield (experimental, jazz, jam, rock) *Robert Walter's 20th Congress (funky, soul, jazzy, jam band) *The Everyone Orchestra (one of my new faves, they play everything) *Garaj Mahal (another jam band. bit more jazzy. Totally awesome, cant believe nobody has mentioned them yet) I thought i would try for the ones other named Phish, Dead, or Moe. Also if you like any of those check out *The Rhythm Devils (Steve Kimock on guitar, Mickey Hart of grateful dead on drums, Mike Gordon of Phish on bass, and a female singer from somewhere else that i cant remember. You would like them if you like Grateful Dead, they do a lot of Dead covers.) ENJOI
