Well, europeans came in, stole all their land, gave them shitty pieces of it back, told them not to leave. Stole the children, abused, raped and killed them, punished them for speaking their own language and recounting their own history. Made mulitple deals and treaties with them and then promptly broke them... all the while, treating them as second class citizens (at best) on the land of their ancestors...

I think it is pretty clear whom did what to whom....

There are fuck ups in every culture... Part of that problem is that the ones who aren't fuck ups, are either still living a traditional style life, or have assimilated into the culture around them... so you rarely see them, or at least, not in such a way that stands out in your mind.
