So not sure how many of you are familiar with the whole Silver Carp.. better known as the flying/jumping carp.. But they have finally been netted as far up the mississippi as where I live... Minnesota is thinking about closing the first 2 of the lock and dams to block them from making it further upstream into the lakes or finding another route to Lake Superior... Anyways.. these carp.. when spooked.. leap out of the water.. and they reproduce like crazy... anyways.. these guys from peoria have figured out how to turn a bad thing.. into an extreme sport

on the Ohio.. the silver population is a serious issue.. some areas recreational boating is completely impossible now because of what you saw.. not because of the guys wielding weapons while water skiing.... but the fish... there are tournaments now held on the Ohio where boats go out build like tanks.. with netting everywhere... the boat with the most carp wins.. and it all gets turned into fertilizer

I only hope that we get a warm rain in the next day or two... it would be nice to get the snow knocked down and be able to get such an early start on stuff this year.

 

much to do this morning....mostly wood choppin but also some outside repairs...nailing stuff back onto the house that blew off in the many fuckin windstorms here....we were trying to figure out if you could tie a rope onto one fin of the wind turbine and ride it like a fun ride

 

mushroom and cheddar omelette for breakfast, with toast and coffee. sundays are pretty much the only day that i have something other than cereal for breakfast.

 

I never have cereal for breakfast, always bread, coffee and orange juice if I can help it

 

if i have coffee and orange juice in the same morning it sends me running for Tums lol.

 

I googled it and I'm still not sure what tums are I have had other people that do not thrive on my breakfast though... I thought it's pretty decent and regular. Good start of the day!

No, i suppose it's a cultural thing. I guess that is it since it's pretty normal here (also for people under 60 ) I take it a silver's breakfast means oldtimer's breakfast?
