Well, gotta love America's love for blatant extremism. I swear this country is at it's throat even more, every day, but I think our president is doing a good job of finally uniting the country on his own by showing that it's not the people, it's the government they, for some reason, managed to elect twice... somehow.

I mean, with the GI Bill, a mexican superfence, NCLB... what's next on the list of miserable failures. I don't think Warren G. Harding was this bad.

 

Yeah, nothing is getting done.... Bush needs to take out some Executive decisions on this Congress and the country. As long as the two sides refuse to compromise you can expect the country to be getting worse all around each day.

Well, we all came to the states in one way or another. They ought to do it legally just like everyone else that was in line before them that they kinda screwed over, you know.

I really don't believe in amnesty unless they've been here so long that it would make USCIS/Customs look stupid to enforce anything on them at this point because it took them this long to notice.

Other than that, you've got the second amendment for this kind of situation. If federales won't listen, I reckon that's they're problem and they're at their own risk... as bitter as it may seem.

 

If they're going to take money out of economy then they should damn well pay taxes.

I used to have so many wondrous "conversations" about this topic in English class.... dumb, unrealistic liberals.

 

It really isn't a matter of political leaning... I think it's kind of common sense.

Psh, even I'm a member of the NRA. Everyone criticized NOLA for allowing martial law during Katrina.

Isn't that what it's there for? It's not like the gangs were the ones listening for the declaration. They'll be out there either way... like they care if anything is registered or bought.

 

Well, I've yet to hear a liberal say anything about anything serious being done about the immigration problem.
I've heard many a liberal say that it is not a problem at all, that the crumbling economy is all due to the hands of Bush.

I've heard others reply to Republicans/Conservatives and their ideas that "your ideas wont work, immigrants will come over illegally anyway."
they should at least be open enough to be willing to find out...

Im not really following that logic. Imagine a parallel universe where we evolve on Pluto........would there be you saying, " if the world were just "here" it'd be like would be Earth"

The reason because we didnt evolve on other planets is because they wernt suitable for life, but they obviously may be in the future or have been in the past. For all we know there was life on all the planets around a million years ago.

Or you could take the alternative view of saying that humans feel the reason to explain everything, and form relgion as a way of calming their fears.

Yeh it is amazing. Such a small chance of happening. Thats why we havnt been in contact with other posible worlds yet, because it is so, amazing.

from what i remember the bush administration did try to negotiate with saddam and he wouldn't go along with it.
