Here's my stupid theory. Like OP was saying, there's gonna be a ton of people going, "Fuck it... Live it up, have fun, whoooo!". There will be streakers, chaos and everything. Once everyone sees the world hasn't stopped dead in its tracks, the whole race REFUSES to go back to their normal lives and learn to perceive everything way different than they had up until the 2012 scare. This will be the beginning of the 'Gigantic transformation" of the human race that the <s>pretentious</s> (that was uncalled for) new age people keep talking about.

MOST people really AREN'T that silly.

that just go along with the idea of something they don't have to make happen themselves to be a change of pace from what they're used to.
that's why we have corporate media.
and then people not figuring out why it isn't gratifying them.
