I think the Israeli response is appropriate. Israel has a right to defend itself.

I never objected to democracy. If Gazans elect a government which is committed to the destruction of Israel, which supports rocket attacks from residential areas of Gaza on Israeli civilians, that this is the consequence. They voted for war and they got it. The fact that a government is democratically elected doesn't give it the right to attack Israeli civilians without fear of retaliation.

By the way won't make a habit of responding to you here, you belong in the conspiracy forum. Discussing Israel with someone who reads KKK and Aryan Nations associated websites is not constructive.

 

No that is not true... It is groups like Hamas that elect not to see both sides of the issues. It is groups like Hamas, the Taliban etc. etc. that wish to control their constituents in the name of some convoluted religion.

Honestly, what is the point of firing piss-ant rockets or suicide bombings. This will solve nothing. Unfortunately, Israel has decided to eradicate all of Hamas with their heavily fortified military but that won’t work either. Only more militants will be born of this.

The only way to stop this is through education. To allow free thinking without retaliation.
For every person on Earth to realize that all men and women are created equal.

As long as there are people trying to control others, there will be conflict. Because the ones doing the controlling think they are right and everyone one else is wrong. And anyone that doesn’t agree to this creed is a threat and needs to be eliminated. This, in this day and age, is simply barbaric.

It’s too bad that there isn’t a definitive answer to ending all wars and conflicts. Everyone is opinionated on the subject, picking sides. But that is not the answer either.

There is no ethnic cleansing going on in Israel. On the contrary more Palestinians are better off today working in Israel than ever in the history of that part of the world. That is because Israel is primarily a western influence capitalistic society. This alone is enough of a threat to the religious extremist to cause conflict.

1) Trim the unbelievable amount of financial aid we're giving;

2) Step back on our military support;

3) and divorce ourselves from this feeling of debt that prompts us to always be on Israel's side.

One of the problems i see with this is that if we do pull ourselves back, we leave Israel in a position of such incredible vulnerability that their ONLY option will be to unlease whatever weapons they have access to. Since we know that includes nukes, the World War that will ensue would be absolutely devastating.

Also, i'm not sure how we, as citizens, can actually control the PotUS' choices for his cabinet ~ it's not like we get to vote on those things, and we know, beyond a shadow of doubt, that trying to TELL him/them what we think will just be ignored. (We already don't have enough control over our government, and folks want to give the gov more control over us?!?)

Okay, but just so you understand, i do still fully support Israel in their efforts to get their land back and under control, and would never dream of working against that; however, i also agree with you about the excessive amount of monies we're spending on this.

{ Cripes! It occurs to me that we could have BOUGHT that land, several times over, with the money we've spent so far! }

i don't fault Israel for their handling of this current situation, either ~ i truly believe that they have EVERY right to defend themselves, in whatever manner they chose. (Hamas couldn't wait ONE WEEK after the Peace Treaty expired to start this all up??? )

So what do we, as citizens, DO about any of this?

As opposed to 4 Israelis who have been killed by rocket attacks since the cease fire ended 11 days ago.

Bear in mind that Israel is bombing so-called "Hamas strongholds" whatever that means.

So they are not as well organized as we have been led to believe. But that does not give anyone the right to wipe them out. As unreasonable as they may seem they are still human beings.

On the other hand their ideology leads them to believe that it is an honor to die for their cause. Just as we, as Americans have died and continue to die for what we are taught is right.

Isn't there a cause for Israel to take control of the gaza region and arrest all members of the Hamas for subversive motives agaisnt their state? Is this a war for mere violent reshaping of the terrorist plot (sure isn't gonna'end it) which Israel becomes itself a player? Is this only to improve the bargaining power for the bully in all of this towards further negotiations with and by the U.S. ?
