you live your lfe in very similar manner as i do. i have never owned a new bed. every bed, all the bedding etc. i have purchased were from thrift stores, garage sales, or i found it on the street.

i currently sleep on 2 futon mattresses on the floor. one mattress was given to me by my best friend, the other i found on the street.

there are cheap mattresses to find. if yard/garage/rummage sales do not work, visit thrifts or consult craigslists.

craigslist is not such a bad place, but most of the decent stuff on there in my area, you can find similarly priced in most discount stores.

    Use a blow-up water-float like on Grandma's Boy.

this is why in my house we have 3 or 4 people sleeping in one bed. and one on each sofa. and sometimes a couple on the floor. :hysterica

if yall cant afford a bed, go to ikea & buy a couple of futons. or one big one :D

You could always make a platform bed out of wood - very easy, and put your mattress and boxsprings on top of it.

I want to make a hanging bed. Build a solid base with chains bolted into the rafters for support. Cover the chains in some kind of material, with misquito netting around it......very nice.
