I grew up in Florida and I do agree. I remember driving through Georgia on the way to Ohio and seeing chain gangs working on the freeway.

 

The LEO's can be bad, but its not like GA isn't anything but a bunch of good old boy networks either..

I could understand someone saying that from the west coast/northwest, but every southern state is basically full of ignorant, aggressive, angry, corrupt LEOs.

 

really i live in georgia and have never seen a "chain gang". prison work details yeah but never a chain gang..

personally if i ever had to do time id love the opportunity to get out and work on a road crew.. beats sitting behind bars..

 

I actually think GA is a decent state.
But VA, NC, SC, and FL, no thank you lol. Never again if I can help it. I've had drama and problems with LEOs in every one of them states, except GA.

 

well for the reasons i would go to florida i would have to say that the Leo's there are far worse than the ones in georgia in the same circumstances.

in my lil part of georgia we dont get hassled so im not so sure thats a accurate depiction of the south..

I never got hassled in Florida, and I had a LOT of good times there.
I mean excessive. They let my cousin and friends drive "straight home" drunk on multiple occasions, let him keep his herb and glass another time, they'll drink with you off duty.
My impression of FL cops is that most of them are really chill. In the coastal areas at least..
FHP is another story of course, but that goes for most any state.

Virginia metro cops though? They make DC cops look passive and friendly.
I've had my shoulder dislocated for drinking a slurpee, spit on for skateboarding, detained for hours, and the list goes on..

 

no i had a bad experience collecting mushrooms.. bad enough that ive been back once in 25 years and vowed not to return after that trip..

 

I could of swore they were, but it could of been my dads influence. I just looked it up and seems that Georgia is the state where the chaingang started around 1908, but it appears that last ones were done away with in the 60's and that is past my time.
Our car always seemed to have some kind of trouble in Georgia on the 75 and it seemed to be raining everytime.

 

Hmm, you know mushrooms are legal there as long as they are fresh and you don't say your intent is to trip off them?

"Yeppp, officer, just pickin some mushrooms to cook on my pizza. I sure do love em fresh, beats what you find in the stores."

Bam, legal. There is one other state like that I believe, I just can't remember which one.

 

you just had to have been there.. lets just say i left him with my ID as a parting gift..

i worried over that shit for years. i still can picture me runnin into the same LEO,even though im sure he retired by now.

no to many bad memories..

 

See the difference between that and VA, is the VA cop would have hunted you down.

I think my perception might just be skewed, I grew up around probably some of the worst LEOs out there.

FTR,i agree virginias LE is about the worst ive ever seen and virginia is another state i refuse to visit. i have driven through it in the not so distant past but i wasnt comfortable doing so..

I generally feel less tense as soon as I cross the border into another state or the district..

 

hells yeah i love north GA and middle GA where my kids at 138 are, and yonder's farm where mama lil lives, south GA sucks nuts, and yes FL is evil hate it swore it off 2 years ago.

and it does make sence because GA is a large state it's got everything from mountains to the ocean to a giant city.

whereas FL is hot sticky and depressing atleast for me...

 

Roanoke LEO's are terrible

Actually I chop wood so I don't freeze to death and can cook. But ok.
