Last Summer was bad. Will this one be worse? Pacific Palisades fire: Fast-moving wildfire in Southern California explodes this weekend, forcing mandatory evacuations - ABC7 San Francisco (abc7news.com)
Probably. Due to climate change, every wildfire season will be worse than the one before. We've stood at the top of our hill, watching wildfire 1 mile away, the next mountain over; it's a bad feeling. Keep the car fully fueled, a packed bailout bag in the trunk, and at the first hint of evacuation, GO! We'll be thinking of you.
I'm here in Portland Oregon where it's relatively safe. Last summer for a few days the sky was overcast with smoke. I hadn't been wearing my face mask outdoors but I did on those days, everywhere smelled like a campfire, and though it was the middle of summer I had my storm windows closed to keep the smell out. I'm considering moving into an RV or trailer, then when that shit happens I can drive away from it, go live for awhile somewhere away from any fires. Also to drive away from droughts, dust storms, hurricanes, Texas snowstorms, etc.
It's now reported that over 1,300 acres have burned and the arson suspect was treated for smoke inhalation. A little poetic justice there. AND, he didn't use a space laser!
Just borrow airforce one, fly it over the fire and have some of the white house staff piss on the fires
