Girlfriend's mom now owes 70k for cancer treatment with insurance. I hate American health care. You are fucked if you actuly need it.

 

Sorry to read that. When fighting for your life the last thing you should have to worry about is the cost.

 

I got medical insurance August of last year...the ONLY thing I had added to my "catastrophic insurance with its 10K deductible" was an "addendum" (I think she called it) that covered the 3 major things (older) people are likely to get struck down with - cancer, heart problems and stroke. My addendum has a deductible but it isn't 10K. I totally agree though about American health care. I ESPECIALLY hate living in SC and needing/wanting insurance since we do not even have the option for ACA/Obamacare. But anyway, I got insurance and know more about getting it in this state than I ever wanted to know. ugh

my mom had no insurance had to go to the hospital have a couple operations fell into a coma for 3 months. the docs saved her life but she needed to recover for about 6 months in a nursing facility. she owes several hundred thousand in bills. she had no money before the debt she has no money after the debt. her hospital stay had zero effect on her financial standing.

 

i always question whether that weather is good or bad...you know because of the ice caps and all. i could not give a fuck at all right now. give me the warm stuff. my kids will be fine.
