I was like, huh, wtf, because john lewis and partners sounds like a law firm.

And then what they got to do with elton, whats most of that got to do with xmas.

Then i googled, but still dont get it, doubt they sell pianos.

I hate shopping
I really dont mind anything else about Christmas. I like seeing family and feasting and going to see Christmas lights and Home Alone movies and all that traditional stuff (yes, Home Alone is tradition)
But I do not like shopping. Shopping i do not like

Online shopping is better.

I like finding special, unique gifts that match one's personality/interests. I dont like buying ordinary things but sometimes you have to buy someone something ordinary because you cant find something unique that matches their personality

It's all very stressful

 

On line shopping is cool, just don't like the fuss if you have to return stuff

I can't remember how it started but my dad, brother and me had a Christmas tradition of decorating the tree while Slim Whitman's Love Song Of The Waterfall was playing. We'd laugh and laugh.

 

yeah, i've never heard of john lewis and i don't have the energy to look him up right now.

i don't really get that. it's not like they don't know christmas is coming. even if they're too poor to afford a calendar, they still should know that christmas is coming whether there's decorations up or not.

 

I suppose they should. But I put myself in someone else's shoes... What if I couldn't save a dollar for the life of me? Perhaps it would help me to see that relentless retail Christmas decor when I'm about to buy into my next happymeal or what have you. It might help me think about my kids and wife and family. I guess I just imagine it playing on the collective conscience of us all, though you're right... it probably doesn't.
