No, not Brexit deal (although maybe that too, soon?) John Lewis Christmas advert 2018, staring Elton John
Here in the States they've put up Holiday decorations for the last 2 weeks. I have mixed feelings about it (being so early). On the one hand, it gives poor families an opportunity (or at least a heads up) to save for Christmas presents if that's what they're into (my family doesn't do presents). On the other hand, it's not even close to being Thanksgiving (American holiday the last Thursday of November, or right around then) and they're decorating for Christmas. So unabashedly retail, and the holiday is ultimately supposed to celebrate the birth of the Christian savior. So it seems ironic.
While we wait for ST.Nic to pass, here's Iceland's (no not the country but a UK supermart) Christmas ad that has been banned as too political.
^ah yes, beachbum posted that a few days ago :-/ God forbid people bring up uncomfortable topics. Anyways, I agree that it's too early for Christmas talk, but people wait for these John Lewis ads, and so did I, so I thought I'd share.
I don't really shop. Maybe a christmas tree decoration or two or three. Gifts, not really. I am only getting a gift for one person, and I already know what I'm getting him, so yeah.
I love Christmas.. and I've started shopping.. big style! I love the Iceland advert, and wish others would join up.. John Lewis.. crap this year, sorry to all you Elton John fans.. but he will get paid mega bucks for that advert. Bring it on.. 38 days to Christmas Jingle bells.. all the way.
