So...what the heck were you doing in China? I once worked for a guy who went to school to work in China(and spoke the language) but decided to stay in the U.S.

I am super jealous of your hair. I guess I have had dreads about the same period of time as you but my hair doesn't look like yours. I can't say exactly how I started my hair cause it was more random. My hair was already relatively long and I just let some of it lock, then my mom convinced me to let her 4-strand twist it, but that didn't really help it to lock. Some of my hair is still not locked, and I have a very similar hair texture to yours. I don't backcomb or anything, but sometimes I twist smaller strands together and try to tighten the roots by twirling and sometimes rip some of the big ones apart...that's all I've ever done with them. Some of them are unraveling and some of my hair is still completely loose..it just comes undone sometimes.
