I am told my shitty router will also slow me down...also low end Ethernet cables.....it all matters

 

Jimmy Fallon is always joking about going into best buy and they try to sell him the cables with the gold connectors.

 

going looking at a guitar in about half an hour ! a fender CF 140 S acoustic for £100 The guy is throwing in a capo guitar stand and tuner , Those bits would cost about £40 on their own so its a good deal considering its a + £200 Guitar and only Three months old !

 

Did you get your router from the provider?

I bought the cheapest ethernet cable (from a big chain store similar to Best buy) to hook up my ps4 to the network and it works great. Saved me at least €5. But it's a 2 meter cable. If it doesn't work well over the lenght of 2 meters it would be so crappy I would have returned it. I was aware of the risk of going for the cheapest as possible though.

 

Mallyboppa do you just collect guitars, flip them, do you buy different ones to play songs with different sounds?

I just don't get why someone would need a whole lot of them...a few different kinds sure.

 

as long as it's CAT5E or CAT6 it will handle the data throughput of high definition media.
anything less/older and you will maybe have issues such as artifacts and stutters when streaming.

when in doubt, get CAT6, it is rated for gigabit throughput.

how can you tell?....other than when you buy it and its on the label......mine is blue...is that techy enough?......I have a modem from my provider...after I complained they sent me a better one...the router is a giveaway is probably 10 years old...

I too collect guitars...I am currently up to one...its a beaver creek with a badly warped neck,old strings and a shitty kapo

The info on the label is usually reliable. If I had to figure out now what kind of cable I have (without the label info which is indeed gone atm) I couldn't tell either. Mine's blue too, so maybe you've got the cheapest as well

If your router is around 10 years old it is very likely that is slowing your internet down.

as far as I know a lot/most cable has the specs printed all along the length of the cable about every 12"-18".
you should be able to tell by looking at the actual cable.
if not, ??? I guess go by what the label says.

 

He probably doesn't have the label anymore either, so lets hope the cable was expensive enough to have the specs printed on it indeed

 

No reputable company would lie about the specs of their product. If it was found they were it would ruin them and possibly bankrupt them.
