i had an infinity I30 once...its basically a nissan maxima.....it would only run when the gas pedal was pressed...would not idle and driving it would stall as soon as you took your foot off

needed an idle air controller......$600 at dealer ....got a new one on ebay for like $60 and it worked great...sometimes they short out and ruin the computer but mine didnt short

Aw, poor Charlie. I wanted a Charlie-in-the-Box since I was a kid because of that show. A bf got me one for Christmas one year. Scratched out the Jack and wrote in Charlie. lol

OK so I got to try it early.
I get in and it starts up normal put it in drive ...fine. reverse...fine.
The only sign that anything was different was that it said "could not recognize key" (or was it "no key found")
Either way that was the only display on the dash besides "check oil"
The guy my sister went to said the key had to be reprogrammed but I know they are gonna rip her off with that. Well at least I am pretty sure.
Oh I forgot to mention my mom and sister say it does start on occasion but then it dosnt start after that.

Took me some questioning after it started up to find that out.

Dude at the shop says "if it starts for a minute then it's not the key battery. (Originally they were gonna get a new battery and hoped that fixed the problem but after talking to this guy they are waiting till he gets to it on the 2nd of January. First off I don't trust this guy...secondly that's a long time away to be without a car and away from any businessess

im fairly certain only the dealers have the scantool for programming the keys..is he a nissan dealer?

trying a new battery costs $2

she only has the one key fob?

That's what I thought (about only nissan dealers)
Not sure what this guy deals with. But they do have multiple key fob displayed in his store.

Exactly my thoughts on the battery but when I drove my mom to the shop she gave me directions to this guy and not the battery store.

Second key fob hasn't worked in a couple years.

buy batteries at the dollar store and try them both

i looked it up and some locksmiths have programs so it is possible he could do it ....but my gut is like yours and i suspect he wants to make more money doing something that possibly isnt needed just because theres no money to be made if its just batteries

or he could be spot on about saying if it starts its not the battery

    They are funny.

    You're funny too.

But seriously, I read all that plus that Dolly was abandoned when Sue moved away and didn't take her with her.
