RIP pete Seeeger...tears today xxx miss you man...your kind wisdom, your foresite...most of all...your love. You made a great impact on the world...your peace is here xxx love you man xxx
Always nice to see The Clearwater sloop sailing on The Hudson. Seegers promoting of the values of a clean river
I saw Pete Seeger sing at a Rally in Concord Massachusetts in 1975 protesting Gerald Ford's speech at the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, along with Arlo Guthrie, Phil Ochs and others. He only had time to sing a few songs but he held a much younger crowd in the palm of his hand, everyone singing along. Such a great showman, yet so humble. The world needs more like him.
You forgot the important info, as you can see. Do you have a source for the reported death of Stephen Gaskin, whose bio you used? Pete Seeger did just pass. As did his wife Toshi, back in July.
MikeE Has Made A Very Fitting Tribute To Pete In The "Folk Music" Forum, I Suggest You All Go Over There And Listen To Some Of Pete's Best, And Wish Him Well In His Afterlife... Cheers Glen.
Sad; not a lucky break. I remember when at the job at the airport, someone told me to stop arguing politics over the hippy days.
