Obviously this guy always lights me up.I believe in live and let live, but ridiculous foolishness bugs me no end.I gave up responding to him months ago,but he's able to reel me in like a fish on a hook,it seems.Logic does not apply here,so I'll gather my temper and move on.
Some cartoons do really say it, in a simple way. Check out also russmo.com Well most people don't seem all that much designed to have litters, well except for users of fertility drugs? But then the womb can generally accomodate a litter of babies, but women usually naturally ovolute but only 1 egg at a time. And of course, twins and triplets do sometimes come naturally occasionally, but usually not. And how did "white Christians" become infertile? Because they followed the carnal ways of the world, and ruined their body's reproductive system with shoddy, anti-life contraceptive experimentation. Also wasting away the years of peak natural fertility, practicing "fake sex" contraception, rather than natural reproduction as the body was designed for. Reject fertility clinics? Yeah, many Catholics also think that trying to unnatural help along a possible pregnancy, is also against God's will. Especially when you get into the immoral can of worms of "selective reductions," abandoning embryos to the freezer, or cloning armies or cloning or sperm donation or whatever for lesbians to also have children. But Deut. 30:19 says to "choose life ... that thou and thy seed may live," and so I don't see any commandment necessarily to reject infertility assistance, but rather no commandment to seek it either. Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth, doesn't appear to imply to use unnatural means to achieve pregnancy, as apparently, humans can achieve sufficient pregnancies naturally, in general although not necessarily individually, to obey that. The economics of "family planning," just don't make sense. Would I pay money, to prevent accumulating wealth? So why would I expend effort or money, to prevent the wonderous blessings of children, should God so allow? Aren't children worth more than money? Don't most parents love all their children, after-the-fact of them having come to life and being born? How could I ever choose, which child I wish I never had? Even if at times they seem "too many," it would still be well worth it. The idea isn't so much to spread ones genes, but rather to favor human life, go along with nature in at least a few respects that benefit people, and to welcome all the more people to live, if at all possible, if at all possible that there be parents perhaps willing or able to raise them. Contraceptives are pretty much a fool's game. Failure to use "protection" doesn't assure pregnancy, nor does contraceptive use assure that pregnancy won't still occur. So if a baby perhaps wasn't going to come along anyway, why bother with contraceptives? If a baby does come along, so much the better. So we lack "control" without or with contraceptives? So why bother with shoddy, unnatural contraceptives that often don't work anyway? That alone sounds rather shoddy to me. Would I drive a car that just sometimes steers where I turn the steering wheel? Well maybe I might eventually get to the destination, if I don't crash first? Human population naturally grows. People used to understand that. Perhaps that's why they still call it natural increase. That used to be fine with most people, and large families were common and just the normal thing. But then they came up with some experimental "the pill," then "free love" rebellion of the 1960s, rampant STDs, rampant abortion and divorce, and now people talk almost as if there is now some arbitrary "obligation" now to "control" our fertility, when humans throughout most of history, did little if anything to "control" their fertility, and as a result, so many people get to enjoy life now. Funny, I don't recall being consulted, nor voting for this "obligation" to not "overbreed." And if giant greedy corporations and wicked "governments" weren't so controlling of most everything economic, and seeking to monopolize and curtail production, wouldn't there be more all the enough resources for everybody?
hey scratcho, i think your frustration stems from the illusion that we are actually communicating with another intelligent being here. the username 'pronatalist' actually responds more like a computer. with an overwhelmingly limited ammount of things to say, it just figures out new ways to repackage the same old statements. even a child would realize that repeating things that others have shown to be incorrect will ultimately result in total contempt by his peers. a child would re-evaluate the situation, suck in his shame, correct his misconception and move on. unfortunately for the majority here, who have genuine opinions and concerns about the planet and ecosystem, username 'pronatalist' doesnt have this basic capacity of intelligence.
Don't enforce your views, but gently make them understand the problem. You said it, they're the futur... so if you have the possobility to guide them into becoming more concerned, don't hesitate.
Pronatalist, at first I though that you didn't understand the logical impossibilty in what you're saying, but as you keep repeating it, and as you keep being proven wrong, again and again, I realise that it's impossible. You do understand that we fucked up the planet, but I think the only thing that's holding you back from saying it is your ego. Accept the fact that you were wrong, there's no shame in this. This is for your own well-being.
