    There are a lot of other forums , blog sites , chat rooms , ect. I think a lot of them find sites where they fit in better . desert rat

    I remember Colonel Jim that Skip posted about in that memoriam thread. Also Sam and Matt in Vegas. And I seem to recall a few others who have departed, although I can't remember who they were.

    Some have changed names, but I forget who and lost track of them.

    Many have moved on, very few old timers that I know off, but they are there. Pressed Rat comes to mind, he's been here a long time.

    Hippiehillbilly is still on the net as is Darrell Kitchen, but not at this site anymore as far as I know.

    It seems most people just end up floating off downstream, and one day they go round a bend and you don't see them anymore.

    I think Yarapario went back to the jungle early summer... He said something about that. Not sure about Heat. I vaguely remember someone saying she wasn't well... Best wishes to them both.


    Wisp hasn't been around either. I miss that guy...

    Time to come out of the woods ! I've been here since 2000 - joined at a time when it was exciting (for me), like entering a whole new universe of possibilities, connections, dreams to come true (yah they did). It was a time when social media weren't as common and all-pervasive as today; google, facebook & co were still small and the whole message board thing just started. Not meaning to sound nostalgic (geez I could talk about when we lived without TV, car or phone ... uhm I mean in the woods ... but won't :D ).

    Anyway I'm still here mostly to help clean up spam (stuff most of you hopefully won't see). Just saying don't be sad ! everything just changes (yet again).

    Matt was here since before hipforums even existed, he is not just an old member, he is the spirit behind the creators song woven into being. I first came here early in 2003 but didn't join until early in 2004, because of the Rainbow Family network, then disappeared on another travel adventure. I came back with the main name that most people know me as sometime in 2005, disappeared again, and became a heavy poster in 2006 - 2007. It's not that the forums were simply different back then, but that the world was different, because I was on psychedelic drugs most of the time, so the rest of you stepped in line to maintain. Then I slowed down on tripping and the world became only dark again.

    Etkearne was a very intelligent member who posted often in the Opiates subforum, but he just stopped posting all together a few months ago. He often spoke of his struggles with mental illness, so hopefully everything is alright with him.

    I was thinking of you Moving Cloud when I made that last post. I always thought you and Pressed Rat had two of the best names at the site.

    I can't remember when I started posting here, but I know I lurked about for awhile before my first post. Must've been around 2000, I don't know.

    The old site was nice because it was much smaller so you got to know just about everyone, and read just about every post. I can remember getting into discussions over how the site would operate.

    Wish we still had some of those threads.
