School is out and it was really a buzz,
back than I didn't know what it was,
But now I see what I have of this,
The way that people respond to summer maddness,
The weather is hot and the girls are dressin less.

And this is the new definition of summer madness.

I think the fresh prince captured it pretty perfectly here.

Spring is good. It means steep ski-touring and big days (more daylight), chinook fishing, the start of work.

My favourite season is fall though.

Fall in BC is beautiful. Y'all don't really get much of a winter though. Except this year, it was worse than usual.

I'm a 2 hour drive from the southernmost tip of Alaska and right smack dab in the Coast Mountains. :)

Our winter isn't as cold, but it gets way more snow.

Damn, I'd love to be there! Have you ever ventured into the Yukon? What's the average winter temperature there?

I've spent a bunch of time in Whitehorse and I did some subcontract work at a couple mines up there. Never in the winter, though. Whitehorse is an awesome town in the summer - lots of artists, music festivals, and a really neat scene. Everyone leaves for the winter because 24 hour darkness and cold is soul-crushingly oppressive.

I live in a town called Terrace (lovingly ranked 164th best out of 180 in Moneysense's best Canadian cities to live in).

Temperature/rainfall/snowfall info can be found here:
