AGH! I'm so jealous of your confidence with this!! I'm still afraid to wear shorts and tanks to school (although, I'm cool with wearing shorts anywhere else). I hope to bring myself to wear a sun dress tomorrow, and I did shave just a little bit (most the hairs are there) and trimmed with some scissors to ease into it and get used to showing my legs at school. >.<

I really hope not shaving becomes more of a norm for women!

yo think about it this way.

chemistry and attraction is different for everyone. not every guy likes the same girl you know.

I think most of those famous models and crap are straight up ugly. barbie doll look is not attractive to me.

exercising is what makes a girl attractive. it activates focus and makes your eyes a lot more sexy and it relaxes the mind and it makes your body look sexy.

I have found chubby girls, average girls, and skinny girls attractive. it really has nothing to do with size. the only women that really have to worry so much about their looks are SUPER OBESE ladies. those ladies that are like 300 pounds.

so quit caring so much about your looks cus there are thousands of guys out there in the world that will find you attractive.

Whats really funny .. you people only Identify 2 sexes.. male and female.

Totally leaving out transgendered people.. a combination of both..

    Get with the times folks..

Wish there were more guys like you

But aren't transgendered people just the sex they want to be?? Like, I know a girl who's all out butch, wouldn't she just be considered a he?? I guess it's a matter of sex vs. gender... sex will always be what you are on the outside AND the inside, but gender will always be what you want it to be :2thumbsup:

I used to have a hard time going to high school when I didn't shave, but once I got used to it it was so freeing to just not care what people thought about it. Congrats on giving it a try :)

Of course, now I shave but that is because I decided that I like the feel of no hair better. But luckily I found a lovely guy who does not care either way.

I agree antithesis...it's liberating to have the choice to do what YOU want with your body. I used to think in hs, like most girls, that body hair on females was disgusting, or at the very least not attractive.........
Then I met "the hippies" lol. I was taught that everything you do is a choice and you should respect other peoples lifestyles because it's what they've chosen for themselves. It in no way affects me.
So now I just do what I want :2thumbsup: sometimes I shave, but for the most part I just let that shit grow! Lol, besides, shaving is time-consuming and a waste of effort IMO.

I think it's great when women shave by choice, not because they feel they have to, and who wouldn't freak out if hairs started to sprout :) (In fact, I may shave my armpits, just because I'm not a big fan of armpit hair in general- not on me or on guys. But right now, I've just been trimming it)

I got a couple of looks at school, but that's it. I think most people who know me, and many random kids too, have sort of labeled me as a 'hippie' because of my personality and style, I guess... so I guess they aren't TOO surprised

Anyhow, it felt good, and normal to not shave... and I'm gonna wear shorts on friday.
I know I shouldn't care what they think of me, and I have no intention on becoming friends with any of them or be in a relationship with the guys, but it's still hard... but you gotta love being the only one brave enough to stand out! :)

I was always led to believe I was heavy, called fatty, etc...I'm 5'3 1/2", 130...and certainly not over it way back when...a female (I think it may be "particular" to females) never really gets over that... one's early self-perception.
Now that I'm older, and see on a daily basis, without even trying, people much larger than I, I see and know how wrong and skewed that self-perception is and was! It's still hard to beat, though. Things like the following little story don't really help; but, to be fair I've been told that larger ladies can't distinguish other women's weight well. still....

On a recent trip to the doctor, the "healthy" nurse goes to weigh me - with long jeans, tennis shoes and ALL but my damn pocketbook, and that bitch puts me over on 150 lbs just right off. The scale just DROPPED, as it should, since that was stupid. I must have looked aghast at her, 'cause she looks at me and immediately makes it lower and is saying oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, etc. I just say...gad, I knew it surely hasn't been near 150 since I was getting over having my son 27 yrs ago! With all that shit on I weighed 132 lbs!
And these healthy gals - and no offense, rarely suffer from self-perception problems. Seriously. They also always got guys, but I was totally grown before I had enough sense to allow myself to realize that.
When I was coming up, Twiggy was "the model"...who we were, as a generation and more, encouraged to emulate!

Media hype sucks, AND perpetuates a false ideal. jmo

Enjoy who you are. Just be healthy and wearing too tight clothes isn't flattering I don't care what size you are...unless you are a dude and your frontal package is tight in your pants. that's ok. ;)

If you are a jeweler and have a diamond necklace to market you dont use a model with big boobs, otherwise more attention gets drawn to her boobs rather than the product.

Catwalks in Milan etc, the girls are all the same, pretty faces with stick bodies, because it is actually the clothes that are the product, emphasis is on the clothes.

Your average healthy heterosexual male tradesman type wants a whole lot of tits and ass, is used to cellulite cos the previous number of girlfriends that "have much back" all had it, comes with the territory. Doesnt read Vogue, read mens magazines with girls that all have big tits and arses.

Millions of girls across the world neurotic and bitchy at Kristen Stewart from the Twilight series for being so pretty, a love story about her character chasing a guy too sensitive to be straight. So millions of girls across the world all neurotic and jealous of a chic chasing the gay vampire. And apparently she just got dumped by him in real life - probably because she didnt have enough tits and arse, regardless of how pretty she was.

Blaming the media is just a croc, a whole bunch of people trying to flog $5000 outfits on the other side of the world having nothing to do with whats going to get a girl laid, or a husband

Whats the false ideal exactly? Most guys would be too insecure to date the supermodel type you all bitch about, or even the ones in their mens magazines. Trying to get your average gal to admit she is just as much a slave to her loins as the guys are ...is like trying to draw blood from a stone.

So what is that false ideal; that you all cant make up your mind what you want; that boo hoo, playing the victim card gets you more attention; or that trying to make out men or the world is shallow makes you feel less so. Or that it really is more about dealing with other chics rather than anything to do with men or the media

The media just caters to what you want, to what you are. And especially when it comes to marriage, you are better off being average, ample amount of tits and arse, the kids will be healthier and you'll be able to pop out more. A horny little skank and proud of it, ready to keep the husband happy even after all the dishes are done, and thus family more bonded.

Or to summarise, when it comes to girls, the fat horny ones end up winning

    +1

I would only say though, that commitment whoring is only one motivation many women have...and attention-whoring is another, sometimes opposite to the first (though not entirely), and for that it would make sense to be like someone in a magazine...first. Before you become a fat, and sloppy cum receptacle.

Before you become a trophy. Or, even, be the trophy wife all the guys wish they had, if you have a husband who likes to flaunt his bitch only to say, "None of y`all can have this."

In my estimation, half of what commitment is, is for show and social approval and superiority and has fuck all to do with the two people involved. Enter the usefulness of magazines, even to housewives.

Yet somehow I manage to be happy and get plenty of sex and I sure don't have a lot of 'tits and arse' AMAZING!

Saying guys aren't as interested in skinny girls with small boobs and butt is just as fucking moronic as saying that guys don't like heavier girls.

"Why hope to live a long life if we're only going to fill it with self-absorption, body maintenance, and image repair? When we die, do we want to people to exclaim, 'She looked ten years younger' or do we want them to say 'She lived a great life?" ~Anonymous

We are who we are ... moderation, exercise & healthy eating will make our bodies look & feel fine ... to try to mold ourselves into something we are not will never meet our satisfaction ... love you body & yourself and you will be attractive & desirable
