If it doesn't matter, why do we do it? Because we or they can? It may not matter to you, but every life affects those of others, and when a life ends it follows that there are some who are affected. Governments and the military know exactly what the casualty rates are. Do they publicize them? No for obvious reasons.
I'm not heartless. I appreciate life is precious and death affects us all. I was only talking about the No. of people. No.s seem to be used to suggest something that I do not think is fair. Is a war unjust or justified, legitimate or illegal because of the body count? No, imho...the No. of deaths has nothing to do with it. I can't see the Iraqi army stopping their military operations because of the civilian loss of life, that they sure have also had a hand in ebbing upwards. I wouldn't say exactly. But, I agree it probably is for obvious reasons.
