What is it with ISIS and sexual slavery? I just read a story about how ISIS is selling women and children as sex slaves. The younger they are, the higher the price. Even children as young as one have been sold. And the women MUST be virgins so they can get married to the ISIS fighters. Again and again, it turns out. One woman complained she'd been sold and married 20 times, and each time she had to have her hymen rebuilt so she could be a technical virgin again. Another woman just murdered the man who sold her many times, an ISIS commander. The women and children are Yasidis, Christians and Shiites. Is it Islam's sexual repression that is causing this? Is it the spoils of war? Or does ISIS not have enough dinero to pay its fighters, thus they pay them with sex. I know muslim men are allowed to marry many women, but I didn't realize a woman could marry many men and pretend to be a virgin for each. If we dial the clock back many many centuries it's pretty clear the old playbook is still the go to manual for conducting business. Slavery was never over. Killing the young men is more efficient now because there are so many. Way back when they were either blinded to become a burden to their own people, or castrated and sold into slavery. These days they're just killed in ever more clever ways (thanks to technology). The Islamic State has also been taking over resources and literally digging for gold (by bulldozing ancient sites). They have plenty of money. And oil. And an army of men and women who will win, or die. There is no other option for them. They will ultimately drive the western nations into a corner with existential implications. It has been the plan all along.

I think that too, but with all the horrendous stuff you do see, this wouldn't be surprising in the least. The amount of pornography viewed by the Middle East is meant to be phenomenal. I can't help but think about our relaxed sexual culture and although I cannot sit and say we're completely at fault, porn these days is so aggressive and if it's that popular over there then no wonder sex slavery as payment is so rife.

Porn is very restricted in that part of the world. In fact it's very hard to come by and they can't access it online as easily as we can. Interestingly enough, sexual assault rates are much higher in places where porn is illegal than in places where it is not.
