Is your child gay? Send him to straight camp!

That's outrageous! Those parents need to learn to love their son for who he is, regardless of his sexual preference! It's their own flesh and blood for crying out loud!!! :$

I mean, sure, would I be thrilled if one of my children confessed to me that they were gay? No, but would I love them any less and try to change who they really are? Absolutely not.

 

Well, at first I couldn't understand why this camp would be so hateful, but I think I now understand. Look at this quote from John Smid, Love in Action's leader: "I would rather you commit suicide than have you leave Love In Action wanting to return to the gay lifestyle. In a physical death you could still have a spiritual resurrection; whereas, returning to homosexuality you are yielding yourself to a spiritual death from which there is no recovery."
Well, I'd say he realizes that they will not "de-gay" the kids, so his goal is for them to kill themselves. It's believable to me, anyway.

You can't have a petition to "free" him from a camp. However much we hate it, his parents control where he goes because he's a minor. The public has no say in this.

But you have to understand these people believe in a literal hell, that homosexuality is a choice, and that they are saving their son from hellfire.
