Is this weird thing on my penis shaft (From masturbation) a scar or a friction burn?

Hello, I'm a teenager and I masturbate at least 2 times a day (dry)

I plan on taking a break for a while because of this weird scaly dry red thing on my shaft, and I'm worried that I've done permanent damage by causing a scar. I've NEVER had sex, so I think an STD is out of the picture, and I've had it since around Christmas 2012, but I haven't given it any time to heal. If anyone could look at the attached picture and tell me if they think it's a scar or if they think its just a simple friction burn, please let me know. I've searched on the Internet but haven't found anything like it. If you need a reference point, it's below the circumcision scar. Thanks for all who read this.
