Is this really what people want now days?

Is this really what we have come to. Has things gotten so bad that we want our kids to patrol the streets with automatic weapons. Never in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought i would see something like this. Maybe in a third world country. But now we're the third world country. and we are falling fast. I was born here almost 60 years ago and now not sure I want to continue living here if this is all we are. Are we no better then this? To me we have only two ways to go, continue going down this path, and put our country back into the dark ages. Or become what our kids want us to be, grown ups and make a future so they have something to look forward to. I know we all cherish our children's future, and want better for them then we had. Is this really the country you want for them to grown up in, where kids roam the streets with guns.

 

Here's what they need to do, get Obama on the TV to drill these changes in to all the idiots out there too. You fucking idiots couldn't be civilized so this will be our new law; Capitol punishment all around. Our dystopian future started 6 months ago, might as well jump in balls deep. All black police force to appease the black racists who can't deal with white authority. Sorry white cops, your dirty buddies fucked it up for all of you. Keep some for parking tickets or minimal action shit like that. Also make it an automatic felony to resist arrest and automatic lethal force can be expected for non compliance. All police will have multiple body cameras for accountability and any cop found to use unjustified lethal force on a compliant civilian will face a swift death sentence.

But seriously... is there only impulse? I don't follow the logic of vigilantism. There's a little of making excuses for violence. I x occurs then shooting is ok. It's the bloody credo of the vigilante. Gotta know your gun law.

If somebody breaks into my home, I'm not going to sneak up and try to kill them! I guess the first thing would be to call police covertly: "there's a break in. someone's in here. address = yada yada...". I will wait on the line with there sufficiently quiet dispatcher.

What I'm not going to do is try to be a hero. That's a mistake! If I have a gun, I'm staying put. If I'm confronted, then that's totally different. I have never fired a weapon - besides my cousins bb guns - in my life. We killed birds and it was tragic. But I freak out when I step on a frog. I'm not executing some poor assclown if I don't have to. But, that's when you do do that. If you're confronted in your home, that is standing your ground.

Not parading around with an assault rifle... not kickin' it with a gun rack in your truck. Not packing heat to the bloody grocery store, or wearing a gun in your waistband at a restaurant.

It becomes a problem when you're packin'. You get stupid. Think you're all righteous. It's a lot of bullshit. Just look at these two:



Does it look to anyone like they are doing anything other than looking absolutely pompous or trying to intimidate everyone at the same time?

 

It feels to me like some forum members are being defiant, for lack of a better term. Their attitude? I don't know what else to call it... is like that of a juvenile delinquent rebelling against an authority figure.

It's this behavior that's counter intuitive, and off the wall. Like, weird just for the sake of being weird apparently. I think it's disgraceful and a little immature. We're all grown ups here, guys. Let's try to act like it. (don't call me a hypocrite yet. I'm open to constructive criticism - constructive being the operative word).

The philosophy of "we're entitled to our racism. we can be enthusiastic about white nationalism because we're Americans" doesn't really follow any moral code that I'm aware of. It disavows cultural ethics. It's ridiculous.

Perhaps that was where the root of problem exists. As you know, less than one in a thousand police carry a gun in the UK.

While US police kill 1,000 people every year with guns, we shoot between 3 and 6.

During the last 3 decades, we have only shot 1 innocent person. During the same period in the US, police have shot and killed more than 1,000 COMPLETELY innocent people, and wounded countless more.

 

A start needs to be made, first proscribe the NRA, change the appropriate amendment to the constitution which allows the carrying of weapons, ban all weapions other than Police, and properly train the police to ask questions FIRST before withdrawing their guns.

 

Yeah.... That's not gonna happen.

I don't think it's quite the beginning. If Trump loses the election, that will be the beginning, when these armed and dangerous defenders of "law and order" go beserck and start gunning people down. If Trump wins, probably same thing.

 

I am as guilty as you on this one. Creating a culture in the US where people no longer accept it as normal to walk around with guns will take decades. It is like telling us to stop drinking tea.
