Isn't there a social stigma to having met your partner on a dating website? Doesn't it just take away the whole thrill of the chase. To me it seems as if there mustn't be anything for the two to build a connection on with this sort of thing. Isn't part of the strength of a relationship built on the memories of where you first met. Does online dating imply that you're not charming enough to find a partner within your own daily life?

Ive never messed with online dating, not my style but I think that you can get to know somebody better online. When you sit behind the computer your more likely to open up and share personal things and not have anxiety or anything. Where as when you date in person your worried about soooooo many things.

I feel meeting someone online is in a sense no more random or non-random than any other way of meeting someone.

I dont think its a stigma , its more that that person that you meet on line is not a cute girl , but a car load of guys that beats and robs you .

I this 24/7 world in which we live in - in so fast apace that 'Morrison's' lament of "we want the world and we want it Now" - there is little time to work on the etiquette of courtship,

As a 5O+ single male looking for a relationship with a feminine, soul-mate of shorter statue, slim build, similar musical taste with like-minded hobbies (Too old to "Disco" - Too young for 'Saga' holidays) The avenue of Dating web-sites is most tempting for one such as I .... although it is fraught with fraudulent representation and disappointment

I guess that's me singing Gilbert again ;)

isn't it just another way to meet someone? I mean I could spam text every chick in the city and don't you think i'd get to meet one of them IRL?
