In an episode of Longmire I heard Walt use this expression meaning he was unimpressed. I always thought this was an Australian expression. In the UK they would say "Really!" This was used in the movie Play Misty For Me. Could anyone enlighten me?

No, but seriously, they are both used in the US, along with more colorful but less appropriate, "No fucking shit Sherlock!"

I have been in Australia since 1982 and never heard "Really" used as an unimpressed response. In the UK they also use, "You don't say!"
