I am not quite sure why some of you have issues with my post? If your joking then sorry - I missed the funny side of it.

Why is it moronic to state a fact? Purple haze IS available here, and hash cafe's are still liable for false advertising etc, they couldnt by law sell you something as one thing if its advertised as another, they are regulated by government body's just like everywhere else. I agree that you can never be sure that what you buy off the strret is a particular strain unless you know the grower, but if you buy in an authourised outlet like here in Europe you get what you ask and pay for.

i was talking about tea with a twist, nad my point is why does it matter what its called if its realy realy realy good sativa does the name of the strain matter, just because its called purple haze make it anybetter,if its good bud its good bud i hate when people tell some weird long ass name for the bud they are giving me and im suppose to know how good it is and what species from that name, just tell me stright out is it indica, sativa and how good is it

ohhh ok thank you. I now see what your saying. People use the name of the strain to work out how good the quality of the bud is I think. If someone says to you " hey I'v got some kick ass purple haze" then you know that it IS going to be kick ass because you know that the particular strain is good.

The same as if a dealer said I'v got some Nirvana and white widow, which would you prefer? You would know that one gives you an upper type of high the other an intense mellow feeling, so knowing the species of bud your buying really can help you make an informed choice.
But I agree with you as long as its good and gets you high then that's the main thing.

p.s - sorry If I have come acros as a bit shitty on this thread, I am on a bit of a downer at the moment :(

purple haze IS infanct a dead strain...no matter what your guy says! thought there are many other types of purple buds that will kick your ass.....just cause its purple does not mean that is purple haze....if i remeber the story right....it was mostly grown in a big opperatoins in the 70's casue i mean hell everyone wants some purple bud. so the big operations got busted and well no more purple haze. tho purple star is very common in the netherlands and purple krush and another purple buds name slips my mind at the moment....but just cause its purple does not mean its purple haze

    purple power plant

and buds grown in lower temps tend to end up looking pretty purple.

That's the thing, even buds that CLAIM to be purple haze aren't all that great, and the original p haze was NOTHING compared to shit we have now.

It's just like calling weed "dro" It means absolutly nothing about the quality of the bud. Might as well start calling some bud "plastic" "oh yeah man this was grown in a plastic pot, it's TEH SHIZZLE!"

    lol purple haze is extinct?

    what, everyone smoked it all?

thats bs. if anything, purple haze has merely continued to change as it is interbred. but you cant eradicate a strain of cannabis that is renound and grown all over the world.

You can easily eradicate a strain, while having people still think that's what they are growing and smoking ;)

What makes purple haze purple haze? The color means nothing, there are plent of other purple strains. So what makes purple haze actual purple haze?

how do you eradicate a strain? have someone go all around the world with a genetic kit?

the fact that purple haze is usually used to refer to purple strains is part of the ridiculousness of this thread. IF it was real, then it would be referring to the genetic variant created at some point for a global competition, and trademarked purple haze. this strain would have been spread around the world. after this point, after it had gained popularity, as well as having a song name to go along with it, people would have called random strains purple haze.

but the people in the real shit, the seed growers, and international connosoirs, they know what the real purple haze is, and unless someone who knew the location of all the haze on earth went around burning them, then the strain is still around.

not that it matters, because if theres one plant somewhere, then its not extinct, but also wont be smoked by any of us. again, why the whole topic of it being extinct is a waste of time

just to be pedantic, I thought the song purple haze was named after the LSD tab called purple haze, not after the cannabis plant.
