I think that fighting the methane problem is a lost cause. Look at the DeepWater Horizon incident. Out in the oceans there is a vast supply of methane. It is iced and sitting underneath sediment. And it poses as a major climate threat.

The decadal global land and ocean average temperature anomaly for 2001–2010 was the warmest decade on record for the globe, with a surface global temperature of 0.56°C (1.01°F) above the 20th century average. It's a purposely deceptive graph from a denier cult blog. In the first place, it is not a full temperature record; it is a satellite record of mid-troposphere temperatures, not the full land/ocean/atmosphere that real climate scientists use and that better reflect the reality of what the world is facing. The denier graph covers only a ten year period out of the entire one hundred and fifty year instrumental record. It starts in 1998, the hottest year on record at the time and, relative to previous years, an exceptionally hot year due to a very strong El Nino. It conveniently stops in 2008, a relatively cool year while still being the eleventh warmest year on record. It also ignores 2009 and 2010 which were record setting hot and would have given the curve a strong upward jink at the end if they'd been included. It is denier cult 'cherry-picking' at it's sleaziest. Junk science from a bought-off denier stooge ex-weatherman who is trying to deceive you.
