I think its the nature of all encompassing conspiracy theories - they are designed to make people feel superior and elite. That's why people get suckered into them - once you join the club you are suddenly an expert on everything everwhere, because the conspiracy has all the answers. Some people really like that, and get off on lecturing and sneering at the unenlightened.

Its hard to see what else it could be, because if anyone actually believed that crap they would be hiding in the hills.

Nah, I think it's understood.

I try not to look down on people who aren't as intelligent as I, because it's largely hereditary, and it's not much less shallow than looking down on people uglier than you. If you're smart and feel misunderstood, I'm sorry the other kids didn't play with you, but try not to be a jerk.

What's more irritating is slightly intelligent people who continue to spout crap in an attempt to share their banal minds with the world.

Time will tell whether Matt is right in regards to his predictions or not. But they are just that, predictions, which we all make, right? You may not like them, but so what. Other people probably don't like some of your predictions, 'tis life. But there is no way the guy is below average intelligence, as one person mentioned, though. That is for sure.
