People who own guns have watched too many movies where the solution to a problem is to fix it with a gun.

Virginia is infamous for selling guns that are sold on the streets in NYC in particular. You can buy up to five weapons at a time, making it worthwhile to make the trip.

The only thing that will even slow these rednecks down is the new security systems that use drones. Robots are impressive, when they fucking hover over your head and can explode!

So, according to the "rules" that wouldn't be a "mass shooting" because only two died. [/sarcasm]

    On a related note...

A "Gatling gun" is legal to own in Ohio. Because every round is fired out of a sequential barrel instead of the same barrel it's not considered an "auto fire" weapon... Gotta love loopholes.

Ok but your reply has already been covered but i’ll go through it

But Trump and many of the Republicans in government only really got into power due to practices that make tyranny more possible - (such as voter suppression laws as one example) - but which are supported by many on the right and the crossover between gun ownership and a predilection to right wing political views in the US is pronounced

Basically gun owners in the US are predominately white, male and right wing

Republicans and Republican-leaning independents are more than twice as likely as Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents to say they own a gun (44% vs. 20%). This partisan gap remains even after controlling for demographic differences. Pew (2017)

In the United States in 2020, 50 percent of Republicans reported that they owned at least one gun, and 64 percent said that they lived in a household with a gun. In comparison, only 18 percent of Democrats owned at least one gun, and 31 percent lived a gun household. Statista

The point I keep making is that ‘tyranny’ is in the eye of the beholder many on the right seem to believe they have the guns to stop any future possibility of a socialist tyranny.

They see moves toward left wing thinking and left wingers in positions of power as a step toward that socialist tyranny, many feel they (right wingers) would be overwhelmed in a socialist take over.

One of the things many of these people cite for that socialist takeover is gun control and why many of them see it as a left wing plot to take away their guns making them weaker and more easily overwhelmed when the ‘socialists’ try to take the US over.

It is for that reason that so many on the right believe that the 2nd amendment should be protected (and means they should be able to have military grade weapons) because in their view it gives them the ability to have the guns to protect the US from becoming a left wing tyranny.

That is why i so often ask when would they begin shooting their political opponents what would be the trigger.

Thing is what you seem to be suggesting here is that the left wing should become just as heavily armed to fight the right wingers

I don’t see that as a good thing it a very bad thing

I mean when do you think these left wing gun owners should begin shooting their political opponents?

In any dispute bringing guns into the equation is unlikely to end well. What is been suggested when either left or right talk of take up arms to settle political disputes is poltical terrorism

    Why so prickly my friend?

I just thought Jen had been in other gun threads so i asked and yes jen confirmed that.

And if Jen had been in them then i’d presume she would already know what prudent gun law had been presented since hell man they end up in all the gun threads

For example you have been in many gun threads with me so I‘m sure you already know what I’ve suggested?

Anyway so as to make things clearer I later did repost a list of gun control proposals.

    Sorry what does this mean?

You feel that a gun makes you a strong human?

    Jen

But the thing is i can explain why I have my views. I can present my reasons the evidence and statistics in other words i can give a rational and reasonable argument as to why my 'mind is made up'

You have what - well seemingly nothing.

Why is you mind made up - well it seems clear that you don’t know.

    What is my ilk?

Well why do you think the 2nd amendment was written into the Constitution and why do you think what was said over 200 years ago is still relevant today?

I don’t know what you mean by ‘blind’ but i would say you don’t seem to have a rational or reasonable argument for your views and those in favour of gun control on the whole do.

Again - i know why i have my views and can explain and defend them - you seem unable to do so

What has this got to do with the debate about gun control?

LOL also I have not ‘got’ Biden as I’ve repeatedly said he would not have been my choice even if I’d been able to vote for him.

Where do you think HE will take the US?

This sequential barrel nature of the Gatling gun makes it somehow safer and less dangerous than other automatic weapons! :confounded::flushed::tearsofjoy:

Apparently it only becomes more deadly if you hook up an electric motor instead of the hand crank... Then it's an automatic weapon.

You know somebody has already made a kit for this modification, right?

Oh, and the one I saw can take a 100 round mag. You know, for home security 'n stuff.

When should ANY war begin because thats what it would/will be
At what point should the civil war have started?
At what point should the American war for independence started?
Your question is unanswerable its situational
Like anything there are always 2 sides
I have a choice to support the 2nd amendment and I choose to do so ( and yet I still own exactly ZERO firearms)
