    Personal responsibility?

Does this apply to all aspects of life, or selectively applied for convenience?

Can we really say that about anything and still excuse homelessness and drug addiction on the streets?

You insist on derailing the thread.
But I'll answer. No capital punishment is not murder. Murder is unlawful killing.
Yes stealing is wrong, it's unlawful taking.
Is violent insurrection wrong? Yes, it's an unlawful use of force to overthrow, in this case, a lawfully enacted and operational representative democratic republic.

So, what is your point? Do you even have one in regards to gun legislation?

The point of this thread is a discussion of past, current, and future gun legislation.
I thought you knew that, if not why are you participating?

I think killing wild animals should be illegal because there are so few of them left.

So we start off by defining conservatives as engaging in slow, careful, pro/con analysis. Then the "others", whoever they are, presumably anyone who doesn't agree with the conservatives, as rushing to action, not thinking and inconsiderate of cost and side effects. In short rash and incapable of rational thought.
    Nice.

Further the "others" see government as the answer to everything. Presumably they don't belong to any secular organizations, no churches, private charities, private educational organizations, private clubs, etc. The government must run their entire lives.
You oppose them with the conservatives. And what are they? Well, they see the government as evil. Nice place to start, the United States of America is evil as there is no United States without a government.
They want minimal interference with carrying out their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness; the "others" don't, even though they seem to have written a very similar phrase into one of their evil governmental documents.

Then you conclude that everyone holds these same positions that you have just defined.
Finally you conclude that both sides, as you define them, have some value.
    Interesting.

I think he was talking within the context of free will. You switched to "personal responsibility." Consequently, I must ask why Republicans always avoid personal responsibility? Trump has demonstrated this over and again. His sons demonstrated their lack of responsibility for the immoral killing of African endangered animals. Trump bragged about killing people on Fifth Avenue and without responsibility nor accountability.

I think Trudge is intoxicated by TRUMPISM. Trump's fake yellow hair and constant false statements must have had a serious impact on these neo-Republicans?

Obviously that depends on the war, in the case of Iraq and Afghanistan it was Taliban, Al-Qued and Isis.....I thought that was common knowledge.

Also just to refrence those two images of us soldiers with the confedrate flag, did you notice any paradox on the second image?

I don't understand why you post these drug stats, unless you are trying to justify the presence of guns by contrasting drug deaths? MeAgain is trying to keep the discussion within the context of gun laws. I agree with that because it keeps people talking about the relevant issues. Red Herring distractions are non-sequitur.

I noticed several things in that picture. I also noticed you claimed to be non-American? I also noticed you think you enemy is who ever you decide to war against, not based on any morality or good sense?

Then stop with the red herring, because don't forget you trew one in their, and also please read the post, all of them not just the once that suit your point of view.
I know you have not done that, because if you had done so, you would have known that I have merely tried to bring nuance to a debate that is too much either pro or con guns, in fact if you read through my posts on this thread, you would have realised that I actually support most of the control arguments listed here, all I'm trying to get across is that the world is not black and white it doesn't have to be pro or con guns and/or gun control, but often the debates on this subject turns in to that ugly mudslinging, because both sidees are emotional about their point of views and therfore choose to not acknowledge the logic of the opposite side.

Also it is sad that you chose not to read all posts and choose to pick one post about my previous carrer out of context and compared me to us soldiers g with a confedrate flag, implyiyng that I'm a racist (because of what someone else did)
And I'll give you a hint towards the paradox in the second image you posted in that accusation, look closely at the soldier on the far right.

Yes I am not American, that is a fact.
I didn't decied to go to war, politicians decided to send us to war. And if you support Taliban, Al-Qued and Isis and their suppression of people then that is fine, but if that is what you call good morals and good sense then I am really lost for words.

Reading through the last few pages after been away – all I can say is that once again it just makes it clear that there isn’t an equivalence of argument with an obvious deficit on the pro-gun lobby side.

We are getting more repetition, mis-directional nit-picking and still a refusal to address the actual criticisms levelled at the pro-gun lobby stance.

It seems to me that for many on the gun lobby side there doesn’t even seem to be an acceptance that there is a problem – like an alcoholic that keeps waking up in a dumpster with no memory of that last 12 hours who doesn’t accept they just might have a drinking problem.

You see it on several stances that many on the right now take, seeing no problem with the ‘big lie’, seeing no problem with voter suppression, seeing no problem with inequality and so on and so on – it is an inability to look at the real world in favour of a dream or fantasy and its not just that they will refuse to see reality many of them attack those that even try to open their eyes to that reality.

So of course, the comeback will be that it is us that doesn’t accept reality and to that once again I put forward as evidence this very thread and point out once more that no pro-gun lobby argument has stood up in any meaningful way to the criticisms levelled at them.

702 - mis-directional nit-picking – not accepting there is a problem – dubious statistics that was already covered – the same old about Switzerland and Israel argument covered hundreds of time before – wanting to be compared US to Russia and Brazil being just sad.

738 – something from the right-wing propaganda rag Reason Magazine that is financed by the right-wing David H. Koch Charitable Foundation and the Sarah Scaife Foundation to push a right wing agenda – some shit that doesn’t address any outstanding criticisms.

772 – not caring already covered several times in thread

774 - DGU covered several times in thread

Reading through the last few pages after been away – all I can say is that once again it just makes it clear that there isn’t an equivalence of argument with an obvious deficit on the pro-gun lobby side.

Now that is funny. Conservatives don’t analyze anything. Everything is a knee jerk reaction. They see everything as black and white.

I hope you realize that many people are not capable of solving their own problems. Hence the need for government programs.

Have you ever thought of actually addressing the criticisms of the pro-gun stance instead of just repeating stuff already covered or participating in silly point scoring?

And yes I do have an agenda it is to try and lessen the possibility of guns in the US from falling into the hands of criminals and the irresponsible - what I can’t understand is why so many in the US seem opposed to that.
